Abstract

The invention relates to apparatus for decentring a corrective spectacle lens (7) and attaching a holding member (36), such as a suction cup, on the spectacle lens, with a support which retains the spectacle lens in an inclined decentred position, an abutment (27, 28) which bears from above on the spectacle lens, and means (35) for attaching the holding member on the spectacle lens. The support means which carries the spectacle lens is constructed as the middle disc (37) of a universal or gimbal suspension. Conveniently the disc (37) is translucent and a light source (20) is disposed beneath the disc to assist observing the position of the lens relative to the image of a template 10 and axle 9 viewed through an optical system. <IMAGE>
