Abstract

A numerical control circuit is for workpiece transfer equipment equipped with at least one transport carriage on which controllable gripping elements are mounted, the transport carriage being movable horizontally and vertically by means of actuators numerically controlled by the control circuit. A CNC (computer numerical control) continuous path control system (10) is employed which is operated with a tolerance unit (20) the breadth of whose setting is adjusted, in use, in accordance with the generation of a preselectable position control pulse. The tolerance unit can thus be switched over from a narrow- tolerance setting to a broad-tolerance setting, and conversely, at the stages at which a change in tolerance is desirable, a narrow tolerance being desirable during the gripping and depositing of the workpieces and a broad tolerance being desirable during the actual transfer of the workpieces, e.g. in an automated press line. <IMAGE>
