Abstract
The invention concerns a method for applying a heat insulating layer to the inside of a rotating mould. The method according to the invention is based on that one introduces a heat insulating bulk material into a mould and applies the bulk material to the mould's inside along its entire length, and is characterised in that the thermal conductivity of the material changes along the entire length in direct proportion to the temperature gradient of the metal being poured into the mould. The invention can be used within process engineering for fabrication of mono- and bimetallic tube blanks by centrifugal casting. <IMAGE>
