1491190 Hydrocyanic acid BAYER AG 10 Aug 1976 [14 Aug 1975] 33265/76 Heading ClA A gas mixture, for testing and calibrating hydrocyanic acid gas analysis apparatuses, consisting of a carrier gas and hydrocyanic acid gas is prepared by saturating a constant pressure stream of carrier gas, such as purified air, with formamide vapour, catalytically decomposing the vapour at 300-500‹ C., and diluting the resulting hydrocyanic acid gas with at least one further stream of carrier gas. The catalyst is preferably aluminium filings or aluminium oxide ceramic particles.
