1416920 Degassing water TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 29 June 1973 29620/73 Heading B1M Gaseous contaminants are removed from water by stripping the contaminants from the water with steam and a gas which is inert under the conditions of use and which gas flows in a closed path such that it is continuously reused for the said stripping. The inert gas may be freed of the contaminants by being contacted with a solvent. The amount of steam relative to the total steam and inert gas may be 10-85 mol %, the inert gas may be N 2 , H 2 or CO 2 , the contaminants may be H 2 S, NH 3 , or CO 2 .
