There are beds, which have a similar function, but the solutions are often technically complicated and do not take into account the body's joints and functions. The alternatives available are mostly aimed at the hospital market and are expensive and not user-friendly due to their designs.

The present bed construction solves this by • the bed joints / hinges are placed at the level of the body joints - hips and knees, which gives a more natural movement • the mattress is sectioned in three separate parts, which means that the body is not bothered by displacements as the mattress parts naturally follow body changes when changing from lying position to sitting position • the leg part is designed to be folded under the seat in the sitting position, which provides better support under the thigh when standing up.

Brief description of the figures - Fig. 1 a-b shows the bed construction according to the invention in a lying position and a sitting position, respectively. Fig. 2a-b shows the position of the mattresses on the seat part and the leg part in the lying position and the sitting position.

Construction The bed construction consists of: • Base frame / Chassis (1) • Mattresses (2, 3) • Mechanics and electronics for regulating the change in movement The base frame (1) Consists of bent steel pipes in 3 parts: • Frame (4), is fixed and includes floor stand (13), seat (14) and armrests (15), which facilitate lifting to standing from sitting.

• Backrest (5), is movable and can be raised from horizontal reclining position to sitting position • Leg section (6), is movable and can be lowered from horizontal reclining position to vertical sitting position. Attached to the leg part (6) is a foot plate (16) to stabilize rising to standing from sitting.

As shown in Figures 1a and 1b, a mattress base (8) is placed 10 cm lower than a bed frame (7) so that the hinges (9, 10) are level with the bed frame (7) and the upper edge of the mattresses (2. 3).

The armrests (15) help when sitting and rising to a standing position. In addition, the armrests (15) together with the foot plate (16) in the supine position form a natural obstacle to settling on the leg part and thus avoid the risk of tipping and overloading of the actuator (11, 12).

Mattresses (2, 3) The special mattresses (2, 3) consist of patented coil spring sections and are sectioned and designed to fit in the recessed space in the base frame (1). They are lowered so that the joints in the body come as close to the body joints as possible. This is important to reduce the tension in the body during the changes lying down / sitting. For the same reason, the mattresses (2, 3) are sectioned to provide the best comfort and support.

When the leg part (6) is folded down, the mattress of the leg part (6) is moved under the seat part (14). This provides firm support for the thighs when sitting and facilitates when standing up. This is a unique design that is not available from any other manufacturer.

All mattress parts (2, 3) are attached to the frame with strong Velcro straps so that they are stable but still easy to remove for cleaning. At the top of the bed is a bed mattress (3), which is also attached with Velcro to the base mattress (2) with space for sheets when bedding.

Mechanics and electronics To meet the requirements in the healthcare sector, the bed is equipped with steel shutters (11, 12), electronics and remote controls from well-known manufacturers.

The location of the actuators (11, 12) is shown in Figures 1a and 1b.

To provide a flexible adjustment option, the bed is equipped with two separate actuators (11, 12), one for the back part (5) and one for the leg part (6).

In the remote control, you can choose to either adjust the back part (5) separately or synchronized joint movement for the leg and back part (6, 5).

This gives the advantage that if you want to lie higher with your head, this can be adjusted without changing the leg part (6).

NOTE! For safety reasons, no steel shutters (11, 12) are attractive! This is important so that nothing can be pinched when the actuator (11, 12) takes its short position. The load on the back and leg part (5, 6) then only corresponds to the dead weight.

The construction of the bed has been deliberately designed to avoid the risk of squeezing.

Electronics and cables are collected in a cassette under the seat part (14) as part of the base frame (1).
