Description

A system providing an electrical connection interface in an electrical configuration of a vehicle TECHNICAL FIELD The present inventíon relates to a system providing a multi pole electrical connectioninterface in an electrical configuration of a vehicle. The present inventíon also relates to asystem providing a ground interface in an electrical configuration of a vehicle, comprising aconnector panel having at least one multi pole connector element. The present inventíon also relates to a vehicle being arranged with anyone of said systems.
BACKG ROUND Vehicles of today, such as trucks, are equipped with various electronic devices or electricaldevices also denoted power consuming devices, such as actuators, control units, etc. Moreexamples of such power consuming devices may be an electrical motor fan or an electricalwind screen heater. These power consuming devices ofthe vehicle may be powered bymeans of an electrical machine being connected to an engine of the vehicle. Said powerconsuming devices may alternatively be powered by an energy storage means, such as aseparate battery or an electrical storage means of a hybrid configuration being arranged for propulsion of the vehicle.
Said power consuming devices are today connected to a number of different ground sourcesfor providing a reference voltage of said devices. Today there is provided a number ofground points within the vehicle. Typically there is provided a number of electricalconnectors at predetermined locations within a cab of the vehicle. Each of said electricalconnectors is provided with a fixed number of terminals, wherein each terminal in turn is connected to a specific power consuming device by means of a suitable wire.
The required need for providing more ground terminals for providing ground access points iscontinuously increasing. This is due to the ongoing development of vehicles whereby more and more electronic equipment is installed for each new generation/model of vehicles. Since each of said electrical connectors only is provided with a limited number of groundterminals, e.g. 66 ground terminals, which terminals further are dedicated to a specificelectronic device, a relatively low flexibility and configurability is achieved. Said electricalconnectors are today manufactured according to a standard design, which renders low flexibility and versatility. lt should be noted that said electrical connectors often provide a plastic housing comprisingsaid terminals. The electrical connectors are thus quite bulky. Said electrical connectors maybe provided at a predetermined location within the cab of the vehicle. This solution isassociated with disadvantages regarding provision of suitable wires. lf wires are provided inthe form of a multicore cable the various wires need to be cut at different lengths so as toproperly fit to various positions of terminals of said connector element. This solution is rather costly, since it is associated with time demanding manufacturing processes.
