Abstract

The system comprises inflatable pontoons, storage spaces for the deflated pontoons, a compressor for inflating the pontoons and a flotation sensor for detecting when the vehicle is floating in the water in order to prevent the compressor deflating the pontoons. An air tank is connected to the compressor and pontoons. On land the compressor keeps the tank filled with air under pressure ready for quick inflation of the pontoons. When the vehicle is in water the compressor generates a vacuum in the tank ready for a quick deflation of the pontoons.

Description

529 057 2. snabbar detta upp tömningsprocessen bortom vad kompressom själv hade förmått. 529 057 2. this speeds up the emptying process beyond what the compressor itself had been able to do.

Brief description of the figures F ig. 1 shows an embodiment of the invention.

Description of Preferred Embodiments Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the invention referred to as vehicle amybility system.

Systemet består av en luftkompressor 2 som drivs av bilens motor 1.The invention is a system that allows cars, mainly off-road vehicles such as leepars and SUVs, to be driven on water. The system consists of an air compressor 2 driven by the car's engine 1.

The compressor 2 supplies a compressed air tank 4 with compressed air so that an overpressure occurs in the tank 4. When you want to activate the system, you press a button inside the car and then a valve opens in the tank and the air flows out through compressed air lines 3 and fills inflatable rubber pontoons 5 which is inflated around the entire car When all pontoons 5 are inflated, you get an indication inside the car that the system is activated and the car can then be driven out of water and fl surfaces.

It is propelled forward in the water by two water jet engines 7 under the car. These can either be driven mechanically by the engine 1 or with electricity from the car's generator and battery. The car is steered in water by means of rudders placed behind the water jet engines 7. These rudders are electrically controlled from the vehicle's ordinary steering wheel. The Gurnmi pontoons 5 are divided into many separate sections and the car can float with your sections punctured. To prevent accidental deactivation of the system when driving on water, there are sensors on each wheel that detect if the car's wheels are on solid ground or if the car is running on water. If the car is running on water, this system ensures that the rubber pontoons 5 cannot be deactivated. As soon as the pontoons 5 are inflated, the compressor 2 automatically starts to vacuum the pressure tank and when you drive the car ashore and it has solid ground under all the wheels, you can deactivate the pontoons 5 by pressing a button from inside the car. Then a valve to the pressure tank 4 is opened and the air in the pontoons 5 flows into the vacuum-filled pressure tank 4.

If the pontoons 5 were not sufficiently coiled to fit in the discrete dry storage compartments 6 mounted on the lower part of the body, the compressor 12 automatically begins to suck air out of the pressure tank 4 which in turn sucks the last air out of the pontoons 5 so that these can be accommodated in the storage compartments 6. When all pontoons 5 are in their storage compartments 6 and these are closed, you get an indication inside the car that the system is deactivated. The storage compartments 6 can be operated either by means of fi spring load or pneumatically. If one or more of the pontoon sections 5 were to be punctured while traveling on water, the system automatically releases the vacuum pressure from the pressure tank 4 and the compressor 2 then begins to blow air into the tank 4 and this air is then controlled by means of closed or open valves at the wax pontoon section to the punctured pontoon section or sections to prevent them from collapsing and losing surface force.
