Sockeln 1 visas i genomskärning i figur 1. Sockeln innefattar en runtomgående vägg 2 i vilken finns en avdelande botten 3. Väggen 2 kan i tvärsnitt ha formen av en cirkel, rektangel eller annat önskat utförande. En lamphållare 4 för en ljuskälla en anordnad så att den passerar genom ett hål i bottnens centrum och sträcker sig på båda sidor om bottnen. Lamphàllarens läge bestäms av en stödring 9 som sträcker sig från bottnen utmed lamphållaren. stödringen kan utgöra en i bottnen integrerad del eller vara en lös detalj som exempelvis med snäppfäste sätts fast i bottnen. The lamp holder can be mounted and fastened in different ways, preferably there are recesses and other devices required in the hole in the bottom for fastening the lamp holder with snap bracket, bayonet socket or the like.

Värmeutvecklingen sker i huvudsak i den del 6 av utrymmet som är vänd från underlaget. För att förhindra att värme passerar in till underlaget kan en tätningsring placeras mellan stödringens 9 överkant och lamphållarens 4 kant 9. Tätningen är företrädesvis av elastiskt material och möjliggör då även till fastspänning av lamphàllaren i sockeln om denna monteras med bajonettfattning eller på liknande sätt. Dessutom hindrar tätningen fukt och vätska och isolerar även i detta avseende sockelns två delar 5 och 6 från varandra. Även en del andra detaljer för montering av stödringen 9 och lamphållaren 4 är anordnade på bottnen så som framför allt framgår av figur 3. Genom att lamphållaren 4 anordnats så att den passerar genom bottnen 3 kan sockelns höjd begränsas till det som erfordras för lamphållaren. Sockeln har även en yttre kant 8 och i anslutning till denna erforderliga anordningar för montering av lampkupa, dessa anordningar visas inte i figurerna. lnom ramen för uppfinningstanken kan olika utföringsformer vara tänkbara utöver de som beskrivits ovan. Väsentligt är emellertid de fördelar avseende yttre dimensioner, värmeförhållanden och vätsketäthet som uppnås genom att sockelns botten inte på sedvanligt sätt är placerad vid den runtomgående väggens ena ytterkant utan inne i sockeln. Significant, however, are the advantages with regard to external dimensions, heat conditions and liquid tightness which are achieved in that the bottom of the base is not placed in the usual way at one outer edge of the circumferential wall but inside the base. Adaptation to different light sources can take place by selecting a suitable height with the support ring 9, whereby light sources operating at high temperatures and emitting large amounts of heat, for example halogen lamps, require a greater height of the support ring than incandescent lamps.
