Abstract

A device for stabilized image reproduction is described. It comprises a video camera (1) for visible or infrared light, which outputs a first video signal (2) and is mounted on a platform (3) by means of a first motor rotatable in azimuth and a second motor rotatable in elevation. Moreover, the device comprises a control stick (4) for manual control by means of a first unit (5), for controlling said platform in azimuth and elevation, and a display device (6) for reproduction of an image obtained from the first video signal. The device is in particular characterized by a second unit (7), to which said first video signal is provided, comprising at least a first memory for detection of the difference in azimuth and elevation between successive images obtained from the first video signal (2), and further by a third unit (8) for image correction. The second unit (7) is arranged to retransmit the first video signal (2) and a first correction signal (9) to the third unit (8) for a stabilizing image correction in azimuth and elevation, and to transmit a second correction signal (10) to the first unit (5) for a stabilizing control of the platform (3) in azimuth and in elevation. A fourth unit (11) is arranged to optionally make, when so commanded, the first correction signal (9) and/or the second correction signal (10) act on the third unit (8) and the first unit (5) respectively.

Description

504 329 i In the following an embodiment is described with reference to the attached figure 1, which shows a diagram of a device according to the invention.

In the figure, a video camera is denoted by 1, mounted on a platform 3, which is rotatable in azimuth or elevation by means of a first and a second motor. A control lever 4 is arranged to actuate via signals 16 and 17 a first unit 5 for control via signals 18 and 19 of the platform 3 in azimuth and elevation. The video core 1 emits a first video signal 2, which is supplied to a second unit 7 for detecting the difference in azimuth and elevation between two successive images from the first video signal. The second unit 7 transmits the first video signal 2 and a first correction signal 9 to a third unit 8 for stabilizing image correction in azimuth and elevation and then sends a corrected second video signal 12 to a monitor 6. The second and third units 7 and 8 together form a correlation means known per se The second unit 7 also sends a second correction signal 10 to the first unit 5 for stabilizing control of the platform in azimuth and elevation. A fourth unit 11 is arranged to influence the first unit 5 and the third unit 8, respectively, at the command of the control lever 4 via a mode selection signal 13, so that the first correction signal 9 and / or the second correction signal 10 affects the third unit 8 and the first unit 5 via signals 14 and 15. By activating the joystick you can thus partly control the platform, so that the camcorder is directed as desired, and partly choose the mode of action, ie either with only stabilization of the platform 3 or only stabilization sv the image itself, or a combination of both the image is optimized.
