Abstract

Lignocellulose material is treated in liquid or gas phase in an alkali environment. The treatment is carried out in oxygen under certain conditions of pressure, pulp concentration, temp. time and chemical concn. The relationship between extracted fibre quantity and the input material is 80-95%. The quantity of alkali used is 1-200 Kg per tonne of dry pulp. The process temp. is 20-200 deg.C and the oxygen pressure 1-10 Kg/cm2. The alkali is NaOH,Na2CO3,Mg(OH)2, or Mg CO3. The pulp concn. is 1-50%. The process time is at the most 60 minutes. A catalyst or inhibitor is present e.g. metal salt, metal complex or complex former.

Description

According to the present invention, a pulp is thus obtained in high yield with good strength properties and / or increased liquid uptake of the finished paper. The present invention is characterized in that the treatment of the lignocellulosic material with oxygen gas is carried out in a pretreatment step and possibly in a subsequent defibration step, and takes place in such a combination of treatment time, temperature, chemical charge, oxygen gas pressure and pulp concentration (ratio of fibrous material to total material and liquid: amount) that a pulp yield, i.e. the ratio between the amount of fiber recovered and the amount of material fed, greater than 80%, preferably in the range 80-95%, is obtained, the treatment being carried out with 1-200 kg of alkali per ton of dry pulp with NaOH, Na 2 CO 3, Mg (OH) 2, MgCO 3 as alkali source at a temperature between 20 and 200 ° C, at an oxygen pressure of 1-10 kg / cm 2, at a pulp concentration in the range 1-50% and for a treatment time of not more than 60 minutes. The invention is further characterized in that the treatment is carried out on the material in the form of wood, wood chips, shavings and on completely or partially exposed fibers, that additional process steps are introduced between the treatment steps such as washing, fiber exposure or other chemical treatment, and that the treatment is carried out in the presence of catalysts or inhibitors such as metal salts, metal complexes or complexing agents. The invention will be described in more detail in connection with the accompanying drawings.

Fig. 1 schematically shows the construction of a plant for the production of pulp in high yield with pretreatment by impregnation and preheating in the presence of alkali and oxygen gas and with fiber exposure in the presence of oxygen gas under overpressure or at atmospheric pressure.

Från silanordningen âterförs via en ur- vattnare l2 och en s k rejektraffinör 13 på känt sätt en del av produkten till Latencykaret 8.Fig. 2 schematically shows an example of a plant where the specified procedure was used. The wood chips 1 are fed via a chip washing device 2 to an impregnation device 3, where the wood chips are impregnated with NaOH, which has been saturated with oxygen gas by maintaining an overpressure of up to 20 kg / cm 2 (2MPa) during the impregnation. The chips are then transferred to ef 454 185 a preheating vessel 4, where residence time, temperature and oxygen pressure can be selected optimally. It is then appropriate that the content of evolved decomposition products CO 2, CO can be controlled. Since the oxidation reactions are exothermic, this preheating vessel is equipped with possibilities for temperature control. Alternatively, the impregnation and preheating can be combined into one operation. This process step is then suitably arranged so that a continuous flow of cooking liquid can take place. In order to obtain a suitable composition of the cooking liquid, it is regenerated or replaced with "fresh" cooking liquid before it is returned to the combined process step. After the pre-treatment, the delignified and softened wood chips are transferred to a disc mill 5, where the mechanical fiber exposure can take place during the addition of oxygen gas at a relatively moderate energy rate. The fiber exposure can then be carried out at atmospheric pressure or under overpressure. The pulp produced can then be purified, dewatered and dried in a conventional manner during mechanical pulping, or alternatively transferred directly to the integrated paper mill for final treatment. Fig. 2 shows how the mass after the disc mill 5 is brought to pass, among other things, the refiner 7 and then lowered into a Latency cycle 8 for dilution and stirring. Thereafter, the pulp can pass a silage device 9 and a dewaterer 10 and then be transported to the paper mill. From the screen device, a part of the product is returned to the Latency Cycle 8 via a dewaterer 12 and a so-called shrimp refiner 13 in a known manner.
