Abstract

Device for releasable connection of a furniture leg of the type having engagement means 7 arranged on movable portions 5, 6 at its upper end and designed for engagement with complementary engagement means 4 on a piece of furniture, whereby the device is formed in such a way that any spring force intrinsic to the leg need not be overcome at the mounting of the leg, and that the demands for precision of the engaging means may be kept relatively moderate. The device is constructively characterized in that the movable portions 5, 6 of the leg are movable towards and away from each other, subject to the action of a locking means 8, which is arranged to move the movable portions of the legs from a position where the engagement means 4, 7 do not engage each other to a locked position, where the engagement means engage each other fully, and the locking means is received and locked into an undercut compartment, partially delimited by the movable portions of the legs. <IMAGE>

Claims
