1314484 Phase shifting arrangements TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON 19 April 1971 [23 April 1970] 9994/71 Heading H3F In a method of processing a periodical signal, a second periodical signal is generated from periodical samples of the first signal, and at least one-third periodical signal is generated from periodical samples of the second periodical signal so as to be phase-shifted from the first periodical signal. Signal of frequency f is gated in gate A by pulses of frequency 3f 0 , where f < f 0 < 2f. The output of gate A is applied to three gates B1, B2, B3 in parallel, these gates being driven with successive first, second and third pulses from a source of frequency 3f 0 . The outputs are smoothed by filters C1, C2, C3 to produce three outputs of frequency (f 0 -f) respectively phase-shifted by 0, 120 and 240 degrees. Three signals are passed to gates D1, D2, D3, respectively, where they are sampled at frequency 3f 0 ; each output is applied to one of three inputs of sampling circuits E1, E2, E3 in which selection is made in each sampling circuit by means of successive first, second and third sampling pulses from a source of frequency 3f 0 . The outputs are smoothed by filters F1, F2, F3 and comprise the original frequency f with phase-shifts of 0, 120 and 240 degrees, respectively.
