Arms 38, 39 positioned on each side of the bottles, rotate clockwise to push the blank in the direction of movement of the bottles so that the suction cups can swing upwardly to engage the next blank. Fingers 42, 43 integral with the arms 38, 39 fold the blank about the bottle sides. In a further embodiment, arms (65, Fig. 3) oscillate to and fro about a pivot (66) to push the blank B clear of the suction cups (45). Arms (69), forming part of the linkage which oscillates the arms (65) carry fingers (79) which describe an elliptical orbit (80) to fold the blank down about the sides of the bottles. The blank may have apertures for receiving the necks of bottles or slits for receiving the corners of cans.
