Abstract

A fibre suspension is supplied in a horizontal direction with laminer flow and at a uniform rate to an inclined portion of a forming wire behind which are located several suction bores, suction effect being greater from box to box in the direction of travel of the wire. Suction in the fire boxes 6 is independently adjusted to free the sheet of fibres on the wire of water uniformly. Water is maintained in a housing 10 in order to prevent loss of fibres through the slot between the wire 4 and channel 1.
