Abstract
A fibre suspension is supplied in a horizontal direction with laminer flow and at a uniform rate to an inclined portion of a forming wire behind which are located several suction bores, suction effect being greater from box to box in the direction of travel of the wire. The fibre suspension enters the channel 1 through the duct 2 and to tranquillise the flow baffle plates 3 are provided, being located an adequate distance from the wire 4 to avoid eddies. Suction in the fire boxes 6 is independently adjusted to free the sheet of fibres on the wire of water uniformly. Water is maintained in a housing 10 in order to prevent loss of fibres through the slot between the wire 4 and channel 1.
