A control panel is built up of metal or plastics plates such as 1, 2 and 3 whose dimensions are multiples of those of the smallest plate (for example, 3) and whose edges are flanged with slots 4 therein to receive U-shaped clamps (9, Figs. 2 and 3, not shown) which secure the plates to a supporting framework of members 5 and 6. The clamps (9) are tightened by means of screws (14) or springs may be provided. Large plates may be flanged on two edges only. The plates may carry mimic diagrams (Fig. 8, not shown).
