Abstract

A sanitary fitting, for example a thermostatic mixer (1), is provided with a temperature-regulating device with a control knob (5) and an opening, provided with a standard thread generally accepted for sanitary fittings, for a flow regulating device. Screwed into this opening is, instead of a manually actuatable control knob with a valve body, a flow regulating device (10) adapted to regulate automatically the flow dispensed from the mixer, for example according to a predetermined program. The unit has or interacts with a means (12, 16, 16a) by which the automatic operation is initiated. It also accommodates a power source (11) for the automatic operation or can be connected to such a power source. The object for protection is also a flow-regulating device for interchangeable connection to a sanitary fitting.
