Abstract
The conveyor has at least one straight section (1a1, 1a2) and/or curved section (1b) comprising a track body (2) and a conveyor chain (3) for transporting identical width goods (4) between two guide rails (5a, 5b) which are adjustably connected to the track body in order to adapt the conveyor to the width of the goods. The connection between the track body and rails in the straight sections is via at least two spaced apart sliding toothed bars (6a, 6b) which extend in a transverse direction relative to the track body and which are engaged with a cog wheel rotatably mounted in the track body. Rotating the wheel in one direction will increase the gap between the rails and rotating in the opposite direction with reduce the gap. A device is provided for synchronizing the rotation of the cog wheels in the different straight track sections in order to keep the distance between the rails constant. Each rail in the curved section is connected to the track body by a resiliently flexible web (e.g. plastic strip) which is slidably connected to the track body at both ends and at the approximate middle of the curve.
