Abstract
A device for transferring microwaves between a mechanical waveguide (115) and a microstrip line, which microstrip line comprises a conductor (140) and an earth plane (150), which are arranged on each side of a dielectric substrate (130). The microstrip line is plane-parallel to the waveguide and the waveguide has a cavity (124) adjacent to that end of the waveguide into which the microstrip line is partly inserted. The cavity is formed, for example, in the bottom (120) of the waveguide and extends perpendicular to the direction of the microstrip line. The distance (D2) between the plane in which the centre axis of the microstrip line is located and the bottom of the cavity is between lambda /8 and 3 lambda /8.
