Claims (10)

1. A system for detecting analyte in a liquid, comprising: a matrix sensor containing at least first and second chemically sensitive resistors, each of the chemically sensitive resistor is a mixture of a non-conductive organic polymer and an electrically conductive material that differs in composition from the specified non-conductive organic polymer, each resistor provides an electric current path through said mixture of a non-conductive organic polymer and said conductive material, the first electrical resistance when in contact with the first liquid, which is a chemical analyte with a first concentration, and the second electrical resistance when in contact with a second liquid, which is a specified chemical analyte with a second different from the first concentration, the difference between the first electrical resistance and the second electrical resistance of said first chemically sensitive resistor is different from the difference between the first electrical resistance and a second electrical resistance of the specified second chemically sensitive resistor under the same conditions; an electrical measuring device electrically connected to said matrix sensor; and a computer containing a resident algorithm; wherein said measuring device measures said first and said second electrical resistances in each of said chemically sensitive resistors, and said computer assembles said resistance values into a response profile of the sensor. 5.
