Abstract

FIELD: medicine; gynecology; surgery. SUBSTANCE: wound on uterus is sutured by applying omega-shaped suture. This particular type of suture is inventively novel and is applied in following manner: thread is led from side of serous membrane of uterus through entire thickness of wound wall at some distance from wound edge up to wound bottom in such manner as to leave thread loop in wound cavity. Thread is further led from side of wound wall closer to wound edge and, further onwards, from side of serous membrane from opposite side of wound in wound edge region up to wound cavity bottom so as to leave loop in cavity. Subsequently, thread is drawn out through thickness of opposite wound wall at some distance from its edge. It is necessary to note that such omega-shaped sutures are applied onto both walls of wound 2-4 times, whereupon all sutures are tightened simultaneously in such manner that wound edges would be embedded into wound cavity. EFFECT: invention offers numerous advantages: shorter operation duration; lower blood losses during operation; shorter stay of operated woman in hospital; preservation or restoration of reproductive function; child birth possible through natural delivery tract; simplified operation.

The invention relates to gynecology and can be used for suturing a wound on the uterus during any surgical operations on the uterus, excluding cesarean section in the lower segment of the uterus. The objective of the invention is to reduce the time of surgery, reduce blood loss during surgery, reduce the length of a woman’s hospital stay, preserve or restore reproductive function and ensure childbirth through the natural birth canal, as well as simplifying the operation. The essence of the invention: suturing the wound on the uterus is done by applying an omega-shaped suture by passing the thread from the side of the serous membrane of the uterus through the thickness of the wound wall, departing from the edge of the wound to the bottom of the wound, leaving a loop in the wound cavity. Next, the thread is carried out from the side of the wound wall closer to its edge and further from the side of the serous membrane from the opposite side of the wound in the region of its edge to the bottom of the wound cavity, leaving a loop in it. Subsequently, the thread is removed through the thickness of the opposite wall of the wound, departing from its edge. Both sides of the wound are sutured with omega-shaped sutures 2 to 4 times, after which all sutures are tightened simultaneously so that the edges of the wound are immersed in the wound cavity.
