Abstract

FIELD: gas purification. SUBSTANCE: invention is dealing with removing impurities from effluent gases via purification on biofilter and may find use in petrochemical and chemical industries as well as at biological purification stations. Filter material of invention has on its surface fixed microorganisms and is preliminarily treated with aqueous solution containing 0.5-1.0 g/l of nonionic surfactant at 15- 25 C and atmospheric pressure for 0.5-1.0 h, whereupon effluent gases are saturated with water and passed through biofilter. Additional treatment of filter material allows achieving efficacious removal of water-soluble and difficultly soluble in water impurities from effluent gases, in particular, isoprene dimers and trimers, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, styrene and other aromatic hydrocarbons, some of them being only partially or not at all removable with the aid of known procedures. Degree of toluene removal attains 96%. EFFECT: increased purification degree. 2 tbl

96%.The invention relates to the separation of impurities from exhaust gases by biological treatment on a biofilter and can find application in the petrochemical and chemical industries and biological treatment plants. The essence of the invention is the implementation of the process of biological purification of exhaust gases using a filter material on the surface of which microorganisms are attached, which, before the stage of introduction of microorganisms, is treated with an aqueous solution containing 0.5 - 1.0 g / l of nonionic surfactant at a temperature of 15 - 25 o C and atmospheric pressure for 0.5 to 1.0 h, then the exhaust gases are saturated with water and passed through a biofilter. Additional processing of the filter material allows you to achieve effective purification of exhaust gases from water-insoluble or labor-insoluble impurities, in particular such as dimers and trimers of isoprene, aromatic hydrocarbons: benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, styrene, etc., some of them are not completely removed by known methods , others are not retrieved at all. The degree of purification from toluene reaches 96%.
