Abstract

FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ultrasonic inspection of articles and may be used to measured flow section of pipes with internal deposits. Method involves input of ultrasonic oscillations into pipe-line along normal to outer surface and reception with the aid of two ultrasonic converters placed on diametrically opposite outer surfaces of pipe-line of ultrasonic oscillations passed through walls of pipe-line. Time of passage of ultrasonic oscillations from first converter to boundary of separation between liquid and opposite inner surface of pipe-line with deposits is measured, time of passage of ultrasonic oscillations from the other converter to boundary of separation between liquid and opposite inner surface of pipe-line with deposits is measured, time of passage of ultrasonic oscillations from one converter to the other one is measured and flow section of pipe-line is found by formula:, where D is diameter of flow section of pipe-line; tis time of passage of ultrasonic oscillations from first converter to boundary of separation between liquid and opposite inner surface of pipe-line with deposits; tis time of passage of ultrasonic oscillations from second converter to boundary of separation between liquid and opposite inner surface of pipe-line with deposits; tis time of passage of ultrasonic oscillations from one converter to other converter; C is velocity of ultrasound in liquid. EFFECT: enhanced precision of measurement of flow section of pipe-line with deposits on inner walls of pipes without interruption of process of usage of pipe-line. 1 cl, 1 dwg

The invention relates to the field of ultrasonic testing of products and can be used to measure the bore of pipes with internal deposits. The technical task to be solved is to increase the accuracy of measuring the pipe bore, taking into account deposits on the inner walls of the pipe, and to carry out the measurement without interrupting the operation of the pipeline. The method includes introducing ultrasonic vibrations into the pipeline normal to the outer surface and receiving with the help of two ultrasonic transducers located on diametrically opposite external surfaces of the pipeline, ultrasonic vibrations transmitted through the pipe walls and deposits on the internal walls of the pipeline and a passage section filled with liquid, for example water, measure the transit time of ultrasonic vibrations from the first transducer to the interface between the liquid and the opposite inside the surface of the pipeline with deposits, measure the transit time of ultrasonic vibrations from another transducer to the interface between the pipeline fluid with deposits, measure the transit time of ultrasonic vibrations from one transducer to another, and determine the flow cross-section of the pipeline according to the formula given in the description.
