Abstract

FIELD: roller-type quenching equipment of heat treatment line. SUBSTANCE: equipment for cooling by gas stream has two or more jet nozzles arranged along axis of cooling rollers through metallic strip. Width of jet nozzles is less than that of metallic strip. Jet nozzles are mounted with possibility of motion along motion direction of cooling rollers. At least one jet nozzle may move along axis of roller. Process is realized with use of apparatus controlling pressure or velocity of cooling gas stream fed to each nozzle. Small-width jet nozzles move directly over hot zones usually being W-shaped and having small dimension along width of non-uniform distribution of temperature. Cooling gas is forced to said zones. Pressure or velocity of cooling gas flow is controlled by means of special apparatus providing concentric cooling of hot zones. EFFECT: effective elimination of non-uniform temperature distribution.
