Abstract

FIELD: recultivation of ash dumping grounds of heat-and-electric and hydroelectric power stations. SUBSTANCE: method involves development of contaminated lands in two stages: at the first stage, layer of fertile soil is applied onto leveled disturbed land, with layer being composed of sand, clay, peat, sand sublayers; mellowing layers, leveling and applying fertilizer; at the second stage, growing of auxiliary agricultural plant, such as topinambour, is carried out. This plant has roots and tubers facilitating formation of humus layer in soil. Tubers of the first year yield are left in soil and the layer obtained is deepened from year to year till thickness of layer reaches the value required to grow main agricultural crops, such as fodder or cereal crops. EFFECT: reduced cost by usage of common agricultural tools and machines, simplified method, quick repay of expenses, effective reprocessing of green mass and tubers of topinambour, improved quality of lands and ecology.

A method is proposed for reclamation of technologically disturbed land plots, in particular ash dumps of thermal power plants and state district power plants using crop-growing techniques, and in particular, by cultivating Jerusalem artichoke on them, usually called an earthen pear. The development of contaminated land is carried out in two stages. At the first stage, a layer of fertile soil, small in height, is applied to the aligned technologically disturbed area, consisting of the following components: sand-clay-peat-sand, the layers are loosened, leveled, fertilized. At the second stage, the auxiliary crop of Jerusalem artichoke is cultivated, which, due to the properties of its root system and tubers, creates an additional humus layer in the soil. Leaving tubers after the first year of cultivation of Jerusalem artichoke in the soil, this layer is deepened from year to year until it reaches the value necessary for growing major crops, such as, for example, fodder or grain. The method is inexpensive, requires the use of conventional agricultural tools and machines, as well as technology, it quickly pays off, since Jerusalem artichoke itself is a useful crop: its green mass goes to feed livestock, and tubers after processing provide valuable food products. The method can significantly improve the environmental situation, as ash dumps and other technologically disturbed lands cause significant harm to air, water and soil.
