Изобретение относится к стекольной промышленности, в частности к основным предварительно обработанным компонентам шихты для изготовления различных сортов силикатного стекла. Целью настоящего изобретения является создание нового компонента стекольной шихты, который обеспечивает бессодовый процесс варки стекла, легко вступает в химическую реакцию с кремнеземом и другими компонентами стекольной шихты. Компонент стекольной шихты содержит силикат щелочного металла и кремнезем и представляет собой сферические гранулы диаметром - 0,1 - 0,5 мм, в центре каждой из которых находится аморфная частица кремнезема с жестко прикрепленными к ней радиально игольчатыми кристаллами безводных силикатов щелочных металлов (натрия, калия, лития или их смеси).
