The invention relates to the field of combustion of predominantly gaseous fuel and can be used in the furnaces of steam boilers of thermal power plants. The invention solves the problem of reducing the content of nitrogen oxides in the combustion products. Through two pipes tilted towards one another, air of equal width is supplied in equal quantity. The air at the outlet of the nozzles is mixed with natural gas, which is supplied through the outlet openings of the collectors. Before the collision of gas-air flows from the nozzles, the coefficients of excess air in their inner and outer halves are supported, respectively, by larger and smaller stoichiometric ones. To do this, in the collectors of air-conducting pipes, outlet ports communicated with the inner half of the socket are made with a total area of flow areas smaller than the total area of the flow areas of the holes communicated with the outside half of this pipe. During the collision of the oblique flows of the gas-air mixture in the furnace volume, a fan-shaped torch is formed with peripheral zones depleted in fuel and a central zone enriched in fuel, which leads to a decrease in the generation of nitrogen oxides. In addition, part of the nitrogen oxides formed in the initial part of the torch is reduced to molecular nitrogen with mixing in the torch with products of incomplete combustion of the torch zone enriched in fuel.
