Для снижения потерь испаряющегося продукта путем глубокого охлаждения парогазовой смеси перед выходом в атмосферу, для уменьшения расхода низкотемпературного хладоагента парогазовую смесь предварительно охлаждают, понижая концентрацию паров продукта в ней путем теплообмена с промежуточным хладоагентом, имеющим температуру, меньшую начальной температуры парогазовой смеси. Сконденсировавшийся продукт отбирается.
