Abstract
Description
The invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular to the processing of hard alloy waste. In industry, physical and physico-chemical methods are used to obtain hard-alloy powders.
A known method of recycling waste hard alloys using the "Zinc process", including heat treatment in a zinc melt, which separates the grains of tungsten carbide and cobalt. The result is powders regenerated tungsten carbide and cobalt [ed. St. No. 1528336, B22C 1/00, 1986]. However, zinc impurities remain in the regenerated powders, which reduce the physical and mechanical properties of hard alloys, which limits the use of mixtures. They can only be used for filling or for non-critical products. In addition, the disadvantage of this method is the need to use complex energy-intensive equipment, and, as a result, the high cost of powders.
Closest to the claimed technical solution is a method of manufacturing carbide mixtures from spent hard alloys [US Pat. RF 2157741, C2, 03.11.1998], in which the manufacture of hard-alloy mixtures from spent hard alloys by the "Tumel-process", including heat treatment of hard-alloy scrap in a protective atmosphere or vacuum, crushing, grinding to a fraction of 40 microns or less, scrap before heat treatment is sorted into batches by chemical composition and mass, remove surface contaminants, and the heat treatment temperature for each batch is determined depending on the cobalt content. Heat treatment is carried out in order to embrittle scrap in a protective atmosphere or vacuum at the optimum temperature, depending on the technical condition of the furnace, the mass of pieces of scrap and the concentration of cobalt in the latter. During heat treatment, recrystallization through the liquid phase and a sharp growth of tungsten carbide grains take place, leading to material embrittlement. In the case when the heat treatment temperature is below the optimum, there is no embrittlement of the waste, which makes it difficult or impossible for them to be further processed by crushing.
The disadvantage of the prototype is the low manufacturability of the process, tk. the chemical composition changes due to the contamination of the processed material with the container material, the chemical composition of the alloy changes due to carbon waste and cobalt leakage, as well as the impossibility of obtaining alloy powders with a uniform distribution of alloying elements, high energy costs.
The claimed invention is aimed at solving the problem of obtaining a carbide alloy powder with a uniform distribution of alloying elements from the waste of the T5K10 alloy in distilled water with low cost, low energy costs and environmental cleanliness of the process.
The task is achieved by the method of electrical discharge dispersion (EED) of T5K10 alloy waste in distilled water. The EED process is the destruction of a conductive material as a result of local action of short-term electrical discharges between the electrodes. In the discharge zone, under the influence of high temperatures, heating, melting and partial evaporation of the metal occur.

1.Example 1
Wastes of T5K10 hard alloy were dispersed in distilled water at a load mass of 350 g on an experimental setup for producing powders from conductive materials. The following electrical parameters of the setup were used:
- ёмкость конденсаторов 57,5…60,0 мкФ;- capacitance of capacitors 57.5 ... 60.0 uF;
- напряжение на электродах от 180…200 В;- voltage on the electrodes from 180…200 V;
These modes of obtaining carbide powder by the method of electroerosive dispersion of T5K10 alloy waste in distilled water are not recommended, because the process of electroerosive dispersion is not stable, since there is a weak sparking between the granules of the material to be dispersed.
2.Example 2
Wastes of T5K10 hard alloy were dispersed in distilled water at a load mass of 350 g on an experimental setup for producing powders from conductive materials. The following electrical parameters of the setup were used:
- ёмкость конденсаторов 60,0…62,5 мкФ;- capacitance of capacitors 60.0 ... 62.5 uF;
- напряжение на электродах от 200…210 В;- voltage on the electrodes from 200 ... 210 V;
The resulting carbide powder was studied by various methods.
Микроанализ частиц порошка, проведенный с помощью растрового электронного микроскопа «QUANTA 600 FEG», показал, что порошок, полученный методом ЭЭД из отходов сплава Т5К10, состоит в основном из частиц правильной сферической, эллиптической формы и агломератов (фигура 1).Microanalysis of powder particles, carried out using a scanning electron microscope "QUANTA 600 FEG", showed that the powder obtained by EED from waste alloy T5K10 consists mainly of particles of regular spherical, elliptical shape and agglomerates (figure 1).
Анализ распределения по размерам частиц порошка, полученного с помощью анализатора размеров частиц «Analysette 22 NanoTec», показал, что частицы порошка имеют размеры от 0,1 до 75,0 мкм со средним объемным диаметром 57,1 мкм (фигура 2).Analysis of the particle size distribution of the powder obtained using the Analysette 22 NanoTec particle size analyzer showed that the powder particles have sizes from 0.1 to 75.0 μm with an average volume diameter of 57.1 μm (figure 2).
Рентгеноспектральный микроанализ частиц порошка, проведенный с помощью энергодисперсионного анализатора рентгеновского излучения фирмы «EDAX», встроенного в растровый электронный микроскоп «QUANTA 600 FEG», показал, что на поверхности частиц порошка, полученного методом ЭЭД из отходов твердого сплава марки Т5К10, на обнаруживается кислород, а все остальные элементы распределены относительно равномерно (фигура 3).X-ray spectral microanalysis of powder particles, carried out using an EDAX energy-dispersive X-ray analyzer built into a QUANTA 600 FEG scanning electron microscope, showed that oxygen was not detected on the surface of powder particles obtained by EED from T5K10 hard alloy waste, and all other elements are distributed relatively evenly (figure 3).
Анализ фазового состава частиц порошка, проведенный с помощью рентгеновской дифракции на дифрактометре «Rigaku Ultima IV», показал, что наличие в рабочей жидкости углерода приводит к образованию оксидных фаз WО2, а также к обезуглероживанию WС до W2С и вплоть до фаз чистых металлов W (фигура 4).An analysis of the phase composition of the powder particles, carried out using X-ray diffraction on a Rigaku Ultima IV diffractometer, showed that the presence of carbon in the working fluid leads to the formation of oxide phases WO 2 , as well as to the decarburization of WC to W 2 C and up to pure metal phases W (figure 4).
The conducted studies have shown that by the method of electroerosive dispersion of hard alloy wastes of the T5K10 grade, it is possible to obtain an alloy powder with a uniform distribution of alloying elements.
3.Example 3
Wastes of T5K10 hard alloy were dispersed in distilled water at a load mass of 350 g on an experimental setup for producing powders from conductive materials. The following electrical parameters of the setup were used:
- ёмкость конденсаторов 62,5…65,0 мкФ;- capacitance of capacitors 62.5 ... 65.0 uF;
- напряжение на электродах от 210…220 В;- voltage on the electrodes from 210…220 V;
These modes of obtaining carbide powder by the method of electroerosive dispersion of T5K10 alloy waste in distilled water are not recommended, because the process of electroerosive dispersion is explosive and is not stable.
