Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the chemical industry, in particular to the technology of extraction of rare earth metals (REM) from phosphogypsum (PG), obtained by hemihydrate technology for processing apatite concentrate.
71%.A known method of extracting REM from phosphogypsum, including treatment of phosphogypsum with a solution of sulfuric acid, filtering the pulp of phosphogypsum and separating the amount of rare earth elements (REE) from the resulting solution (Pushkina G.Ya., Melnikov P.P., Malikov V.A., etc. Application ion-exchanger KMDF for isolation of rare-earth elements from phosphate and sulfate solutions // Questions of Atomic Science from Engineering, Series: Chemical Problems of Nuclear Energy, 1992, issue 5, pp. 77-80. According to this method, phosphogypsum is treated with a solution of sulfuric acid with a concentration of 2N H 2 SO 4 at a ratio W:T=3:1 for 1 hour. Then, the phosphogypsum pulp is filtered. As a result of a three-stage treatment, a solution with a concentration of 1.75 g/l of REE is obtained, from which REE are isolated by sorption on the KMDF sorbent at a ratio of solution volume : mass of ion exchanger = 10 ml/g for 4 hours. Degree of extraction of REE from solution does not exceed 71%.
The main disadvantage of the method is its unprofitability due to the high cost of the sorbent, the presence of a phosphogypsum pulp filtration step. This stage is a labor-intensive and energy-intensive process, which makes it economically unprofitable to extract REE by this method. In addition, at this stage, the loss of REE occurs due to cocrystallization with gypsum and precipitation of double REE sulfates.
A known method of extracting REE from phosphogypsum (RU 2473708). The method includes preparation of pulp from phosphogypsum and sorption of rare earth elements on the sorbent. Pulp preparation is carried out from crushed phosphogypsum and sulfuric acid solution with a pH of 0.5÷2.5 to the ratio W:T (liquid:solid) = (4÷7):1. Sorption is carried out directly from the pulp of phosphogypsum on a sorbent with sulfonic acid functional groups for 5÷7 hours at a ratio of solid : sorbent = 4÷6. The efficiency of the method is ensured by increasing the extraction of REE, bypassing the stage of filtration.
The disadvantages of the known technical solution include the duration of the sorption process. In addition, from the description of the invention and its claims, it is impossible to conclude how and what quality the product was obtained - a rare earth concentrate, because desorption and sediment washing operations are not given, so their parameters are unknown. In addition, this method is unsuitable for the processing of hemihydrate FG of the current production, since in the process of agitation of FG with ion exchanger, its hydration occurs in the equipment and on the surface of the ion exchanger with the formation of a gypsum stone, which leads to gypsuming of the ion exchanger surface with the loss of its properties.
A known method of extracting REM from phosphogypsum (RU 2416654). The method includes leaching of phosphogypsum with a solution of sulfuric acid with the transfer of REM into solution in the mode of heap leaching, which is carried out with a solution of sulfuric acid with a concentration of 3.0-250 g/l. The extraction of REM from the leaching solution is carried out by concentrating them on a cation exchanger, followed by desorption to obtain a commercial regenerate and with the return of an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid depleted in REM to the reverse cycle of leaching.
The disadvantage of the known method for the isolation of REM from phosphogypsum is that its use is effective only when using dihydrate phosphogypsum obtained by the dihydrate technology of opening apatite concentrate, or FG taken from dumps.
28-51,4%.A known method of processing phosphogypsum for the production of a concentrate of rare earth elements (REE) and gypsum (RU 2458999). The method includes leaching phosphogypsum with a solution of sulfuric acid with a concentration of 1-5 wt%, with the transfer of phosphorus and REE into the solution and obtaining a gypsum precipitate washed from impurities, which is neutralized with a basic calcium compound. Then, rare earth elements are extracted from the solution by sorption using a sulfonic cation exchanger in hydrogen or ammonium form, followed by desorption of rare earth elements with an ammonium sulfate solution. After desorption, ammonia or ammonium carbonate is introduced into the obtained desorbate with precipitation and separation of the hydroxide or carbonate concentrate of REE. Extraction of rare-earth elements of the middle and yttrium groups into concentrates is 41-67.0% and 28-51.4%, respectively.
The main disadvantage of this method is the low degree of extraction of REM from FG, which makes the extraction of REM by this method economically unprofitable.
The closest in technical essence and the achieved result is a method for processing phospho hemihydrate according to patent RU 2507276. The method relates to the processing of freshly obtained phospho hemihydrate and can be used to obtain a concentrate of rare earth elements (hereinafter referred to as REE) and a gypsum product for building materials. Phospho hemihydrate is treated with an aqueous solution containing fluorine ion, then leaching with sulfuric acid is carried out with displacement and separation of an aqueous solution containing fluorine ion, as well as with the transfer of REE and impurity components to the leaching solution and obtaining a layer of phospho hemihydrate saturated with sulfuric acid solution. Next, the residual amount of the sulfuric acid solution is displaced with water to obtain a washed phospho hemihydrate and a leaching solution. The phospho-hemihydrate is neutralized with a calcium-containing reagent to obtain a gypsum product. REE and impurity components are extracted from the leaching solution by sorption using a sulfonic acid cation exchanger and the formation of a depleted sulfuric acid solution, REE and impurity components are desorbed from a saturated cation exchanger by treating it with an ammonium sulfate solution to obtain a desorbate, REE and impurity components are precipitated from the desorbate with an ammonium-containing precipitator in two stages and separating the REE precipitate.
A disadvantage of the known method for isolating rare earth elements from phospho hemigypsum is the high cost of the reagents used for pretreatment of the phospho hemihydrate. A simple calculation shows that with the declared consumption of sodium fluoride for processing 1 kg of phospho hemihydrate, the cost of additional consumption for reagents is 100 rubles. for 1 kg of the amount of rare earth oxides (REO) when using sodium fluoride and about 250 rubles. using ammonium fluoride. With a market value of REE concentrate of 5-8 US dollars, the cost of using fluorides alone in the technology will be from 15 to 26% when using sodium fluoride and 40-60% - ammonium fluoride of the cost, which makes this method unprofitable for use. In addition, the addition of fluorine ions to the sulfuric acid solution during further processing of FG significantly increases the corrosive activity of working solutions, which requires the use of special equipment in the production that is stable when working in a solution of dilute sulfuric acid with the addition of fluorine ions. Separately, it should be noted that the ingress of water-soluble fluoride ion into phosphogypsum at the processing stage will require its additional washing with a large volume of water. In this case, fluorine-containing industrial waters are formed, the disposal of which is costly.
The technical result to which the claimed invention is directed is to simplify the technology for processing hemihydrate FG of current production and increase the degree of extraction of REM from hemihydrate FG, while improving the quality of the rare earth concentrate and reducing the cost of its production.
1:1,5-2,0.The technical result of the invention is achieved due to the fact that the method for extracting rare earth metals from hemihydrate phosphogypsum includes pretreatment of phosphogypsum, leaching with a solution of sulfuric acid, sorption of rare earth metals from a solution using an ion exchanger with sulfonic acid functional groups, followed by desorption with an ammonium sulfate solution, precipitation of a concentrate of rare earth metals salts of carbonic acid. At the same time, at the pre-treatment stage, hemihydrate phosphogypsum is soaked in water without stirring for 2-7 days, then crushed to a particle size of 1-3 cm and water-soluble impurities are washed with water in the repulpation mode. The ratio of phosphogypsum and water (S:W) at the soaking stage is preferably 1:0.6-1.0. The ratio of phosphogypsum and water (S:W) at the stage of washing off water-soluble impurities is preferably 1:1.5-2.0.
The claimed method is carried out as follows.
е. взятый непосредственно из техпроцесса производства фосфорных удобрений) подвергают предварительной подготовке, заключающейся в том, что его (полугидрат ФГ) переводят в дигидрат путем замачивания без перемешивания в течение 2-7 суток при соотношении Т:Ж (твердое : жидкость) = 1-0,6÷1,0, измельчают до крупности частиц ФГ 1-3 см, после чего в режиме репульпации отмывают водорастворимые примеси водой при соотношении Т:Ж=1-1,5÷2,0.The phospho hemihydrate of the current production (i.e., taken directly from the technical process for the production of phosphorus fertilizers) is subjected to preliminary preparation, which consists in the fact that it (FG hemihydrate) is converted into a dihydrate by soaking without stirring for 2-7 days at a ratio of S: W (solid : liquid) = 1-0.6÷1.0, crushed to a particle size of FG 1-3 cm, after which water-soluble impurities are washed with water in the repulpation mode at a ratio T:L=1-1.5÷2.0.
This preliminary preparation (transfer of FG hemihydrate to dihydrate without stirring for 2-7 days and grinding to 1-3 cm and washing in the repulpation mode) is an important operation of the claimed method.
After the preliminary preparation carried out in this way, REM is isolated from the washed FG with a solution of sulfuric acid in the repulpation mode. The concentration of sulfuric acid is in the range of 30-50 g/l.
The extraction of REM from the filtrate after leaching with a solution of sulfuric acid is carried out by sorption in column-type apparatuses operating in the upward filtration mode of solutions through a fluidized layer of ion exchanger (gel cation exchanger with sulfonic acid functional groups of the Tokem140 × 16 (KU-2-8) type), limited from above by a filtering partition .
Then REM and impurities (except sodium) are desorbed with an ammonium sulfate solution (350-380 g/l), followed by precipitation into the concentrate with carbonic acid salts.
Regeneration of the ion exchanger and desorption of sodium is carried out with a solution of sulfuric acid 30-40 g/l.
As the results of the experiments showed, the FG of the current production is a mixture of calcium sulfate hemihydrate and dihydrate, when it is kept in air for a long time, the phosphohemihydrate is converted into a dihydrate with the formation of a strong gypsum stone.
Processing FG of the current production with water at T:W=1:1 with preliminary activation under a stirrer makes it possible to almost completely convert hemihydrate into dihydrate in 72 hours with the formation of a durable gypsum stone, which is difficult to grind. With the exclusion of preliminary activation of the gypsum pulp with water (soaking FG without mixing) leads to the formation of gypsum stone, represented almost entirely by calcium sulfate dihydrate, which can be easily crushed to sizes of 1.0-3.0 cm using simple crushing mechanisms such as a shredder or roller crusher .
In the photo Fig. 1-2 shows FG samples of the current production (Fig. 1) and after soaking with water in the proposed pre-treatment mode (Fig. 2), including grinding, after their leaching with sulfuric acid in the repulping mode at a magnification of 100 times. On FIG. 2 FG, obtained according to the claimed method after their leaching with sulfuric acid in the repulpation mode, is represented by small crumbling crystals with a size of less than 20 microns.
It can be seen from the table that after soaking, part of the water-soluble impurities (sodium - phosphorus) is washed out and there is a slight enrichment of FG in REM.
After soaking, the FG samples were crushed to 1.0-3.0 cm in diameter and leached in the repulping mode with a solution of sulfuric acid 30 and 50 g/l, the contact time was 1-3 hours. Table 4 - Extraction of REM from FG of the current production of JSC "VMU" at the stage of repulpation with a solution of sulfuric acid 30 g/l according to the claimed method, depending on the time of pre-treatment of FG
As the results of experiments showed, the introduction of the operation of preliminary preparation of FG by soaking in water from 48 to 168 hours (2-7 days) made it possible to increase the degree of extraction of REM up to 49.6-65.9% at the stage of leaching them with sulfuric acid with a concentration of 30 g/ l at the time of
Table 6 presents the results of the influence of the amount of water during the soaking of FG of the current production (S:L) on the degree of REM extraction.
As the results of the experiment show, the optimal water consumption for soaking is from 0.6 to 1.0 weight parts of water relative to the weight of the FG taken, i.e. the ratio T:W=1:0.6-1.0; a smaller amount does not allow completely converting the hemihydrate into a dihydrate, and a larger amount causes unreasonable additional water consumption.
В таблице 7 представлен состав растворов от предварительной промывки ФГ водой при Т:Ж=1:1,5 (колонка 2) и от выщелачивания в оптимальном режиме репульпации после предварительной подготовки и отмывки ФГ водой (колонка 3) и без предварительной отмывки ФГ водой (колонки 4-5).Table 7 shows the composition of solutions from pre-washing FG with water at T:L=1:1.5 (column 2) and from leaching in the optimal repulpation mode after preliminary preparation and washing of FG with water (column 3) and without preliminary washing of FG with water ( columns 4-5).
As the data show, the introduction of the stage of preliminary washing with water of FG soaked in water makes it possible to reduce the content of water-soluble salts of sodium and phosphorus in the initial sorption solution by 2 times, which significantly improves the performance of the sorption extraction of REM, reduces the content of impurities in the resulting concentrate, primarily phosphorus, and creates the prerequisites for the return of the sorption mother liquor to the head of the process, which will significantly reduce the material costs for obtaining a rare earth concentrate and processing FG as a whole.
The graph (Fig. 3) shows the change in the concentration of impurities of phosphorus and sodium in the washed FG depending on T:W at the stage of pre-washing. As can be seen from the above dependence, the amount of impurities in the washed gypsum does not decrease with an increase in water consumption for processing more than 2 volumes, therefore, a further increase in consumption is irrational. The minimum water consumption for washing (T:W=1.5) is determined by the hydrodynamic properties of the phosphogypsum pulp, at which its good mixing under the mixer is possible.
Extraction of rare-earth metals from the filtrate after leaching FG with a solution of sulfuric acid was carried out by sorption in column-type apparatuses operating in the mode of ascending filtration of solutions through a fluidized bed of ion exchanger bounded from above by a filtering partition.
Table 8 shows the change in the specific load (SC) at the stage of sorption (desorption) and the total dynamic exchange capacity (PDEC) of the ion exchanger depending on the composition of the initial solution (REO content) and the effect of this change on the composition of the obtained RZK.
As the test results show (Table 8), the composition of the concentrate obtained in the operating cascade of columns at a specific load for incoming solutions at the sorption stage from 5 to 35 and at the desorption stage from 5 to 15 practically does not depend on the content of REE in the initial solution and the value of PDOE , which indicates a high selectivity of the sorbent in the sorption of rare-earth metals from a solution of FG, obtained by processing according to the proposed method.
Used in the proposed method, the method of converting phospho hemihydrate to dihydrate, in which FG is recrystallized with an increase in the degree of extraction of REM at the stage of washing with a weak solution of sulfuric acid (30-50 g/l) up to 67-71%, is not obvious.
Washing FG from water-soluble impurities before extracting REM with acid makes it possible to increase the selectivity of the ion exchanger at the sorption stage and improve the quality of the rare earth concentrate.
It should be noted that the processing of hemihydrate FG directly from the process of production of phosphate fertilizers will avoid its storage in dumps, which will lead to a decrease in the negative environmental impact on the environment.
Себестоимость РЗК составила около 350 руб/кг (около 4,5-5,0 долларов США).The claimed method has been tested on a pilot plant for complex processing of the applicant's enterprise at the FG of the current production of JSC "VMU". Tests have shown that the proposed method provides the achievement of a technical result and allows the processing of phosphogypsum of the current production, obtained by the technology of hemihydrate processing of apatite concentrate with high technical and economic indicators, including indicators for the extraction of REM. The prime cost of RZK was about 350 rubles/kg (about 4.5-5.0 US dollars).
