Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of chemical current sources, in particular to bipolar plates of fuel cells and methods for their manufacture.
The known design of a bipolar plate, described in the patent of the Russian Federation "Full-scale fuel cell with solid polymer electrolyte for fuel cell batteries with a capacity of about 60 kW" No. 114808, IPC H01M 8/00, publ. 10.04.2012. The bipolar plate is characterized by the organization of straight gas channels for reagents, as well as the introduction of perforated grids into them for better distribution of the cooling agent inside the bipolar plate. This solution significantly complicates the design of the product and increases the overall weight and dimensions of the fuel cell.
The known design of a bipolar plate, described in the patent of the Russian Federation "Fuel cell and battery of fuel cells" No. 2328060, IPC H01M 8/00, publ. June 27, 2008. The bipolar plate is characterized by the organization of gas channels of the "coil" type. The disadvantage of the invention is the problem caused by ineffective removal of vapors generated in the oxidation reaction of water from the cathode side of the bipolar plate, this is due to the complex geometry of the gas channels.
Известна конструкция биполярной пластины, описанная в патенте США «Sheet metal bipolar plate design for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells» №6261710, МПК H01M 2/00, опубл. Known design bipolar plate, described in US patent "Sheet metal bipolar plate design for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells" No. 6261710, IPC
Various methods of making bipolar plates for fuel cells are known.
A known method of manufacturing bipolar plates, described in the patent of the Russian Federation "Bipolar plate for a fuel cell and a method for its manufacture" No. 2333575, IPC H01M 8/02, publ. 10.09.2008. The bipolar plate is made by bonding a sheet metal backing to a carbon layer. To connect the carbon layer with the metal base, an intermediate layer is applied to the base from a mixture of powder of non-porous graphite and polytetrafluoroethylene. The bipolar plate is obtained by thermopressing the package at a temperature from 120 ° C to 170 ° C and a pressure from 200 to 300 kg / cm 2 . The disadvantage of the method for manufacturing a bipolar plate is the low strength of the connection of the carbon layer with the metal base as a result of poor adhesion of polytetrafluoroethylene to the metal base.
A known method of manufacturing bipolar plates, described in the USSR author's certificate "Method for the manufacture of products with internal channels" No. 1225741, IPC B23K 31/02, publ. 04/23/1986. The bipolar plate is made by soldering together four metal parts, two of which are thin-sheet profiled separators, and the other two are frames with radial grooves for supplying hydrogen, oxygen and coolant to the corresponding cavities. For soldering parts, powdered silver is applied to their surface, and embedded parts made of silver-based solder in the form of a wire are placed in the grooves of the frames to be soldered. The parts are soldered at a temperature of 820 ° C under pressure. The solder melts and spreads under the influence of temperature, filling the pores between the parts to be joined and at the same time freeing the channels for the supply of reagents in the cavity of the fuel cell. The disadvantages of this method are the high cost of the bipolar plate as a result of the use of precious metal in the form of silver solder, as well as equipment for soldering from heat-resistant materials, since soldering is performed under pressure at a high temperature.
Известен способ изготовления биполярных пластин, описанный в патенте США «Nested bipolar plate for fuel cell and method» №7601452, МПК H01M 8/04, опубл. A known method of manufacturing bipolar plates, described in US patent "Nested bipolar plate for fuel cell and method" No. 7601452, IPC H01M 8/04, publ. 10/13/2009, taken as a prototype. The method is based on stamping a flat metal sheet in one step, which makes it possible to form a large number of bipolar plates in a short time. However, the main type of deformation in this case is stretching. This leads to excessive thinning of the material, which can cause the product to tear. In addition, excessive thinning limits the amount of channel depth that can be obtained by stamping.
The technical result of the proposed solution is to simplify the design of the bipolar plate, reduce the critical thinning of the material in the process of manufacturing the bipolar plate, and reduce the cost of its manufacture.
The specified technical result in terms of the design of the bipolar plate of a fuel cell with a solid polymer electrolyte is achieved due to the fact that the bipolar plate consists of a cathode and anode parts, symmetrical about their centers and having technological holes for supplying reagents. The cathode part is made as a corrugated metal plate with distribution channels of rectangular cross-section, the anode part is made flat, the cathode and anode parts are connected along the contour of the bipolar plate by means of contact welding at their points of contact.
The specified technical result in terms of the method of manufacturing a bipolar plate is achieved due to the fact that the profile of the cathode part of the bipolar plate is formed in 2 stages, at the 1st stage, step-by-step deformation of the workpiece is carried out, at the 2nd stage, finishing molding is performed by pressure treatment using a flat matrix and a punch , the surfaces of the anodic and cathodic parts are connected by contact welding at their points of contact, cutting of technological holes is carried out using a laser.

For the manufacture of a bipolar plate, 2 metal plates are used, the thickness sufficient to impart the necessary strength characteristics while maintaining the minimum weight of the finished product is in the range from 0.04 to 0.1 mm. The workpieces must be of the required geometric dimensions, without residual stresses caused by the beading of the metal plate.
