Abstract
Description
The invention relates to techniques for converting electrical energy and can be used in devices and systems for uninterruptible power supply of alternating current, as well as in automation devices and measuring equipment.
Uninterruptible power supplies are known in which the output inverters are connected in parallel, and their output currents are summed. A voltage inverter with pulse-width modulation is used as the first master, the output voltage of which is filtered using a filter, for example, L-shaped [1]. The carrier frequency of the pulse-width conversion of the electrical energy of the slaves, that is, the second, third, and so on inverters, is chosen less than that of the first. To control the second, third, fourth and so on inverters use the output current signal of the first inverter. The transmission coefficients of the slave current inverters are set by the corresponding depth of the negative current feedback.
The closest in technical essence to the proposed method is a method of controlling parallel connected identical modules [2], the output currents of which are summed. The basis of the modules are identical inverters, one of which operates in the master mode and is a voltage amplifier, and the rest in slave mode. Slave inverters - current amplifiers are controlled by the output current of the master inverter. The operating modes of the modules are set by switching control signals without switching the power inputs and outputs of the modules. This control allows you to change the operating modes of the modules and, in the event of an accident, one of them is turned off, and the load and functions are distributed to the remaining modules in accordance with the technology of "hot" redundancy. The carrier frequencies of pulse width modulation modules are the same.
The solution to the problem - improving the reliability of the uninterruptible power supply and the quality of the output voltage - consists in using several modules connected in parallel as the leading ones. The output currents of the inverters of the leading modules are aligned by introducing a feedback circuit according to the difference between the total current of the leading inverters divided by their number and the own output current of the leading inverter. Control of slave inverters - current amplifiers is performed using the total current of the leading inverters. In the event of a failure of one of the modules, it is disconnected from the output bus, and the load is redistributed to the remaining modules.
The technical result of the proposed solution is to increase the reliability of a modular uninterruptible power supply with AC output and the quality of the output voltage as a result of the absence of switching. At the same time, there is an additional opportunity, if necessary, to use as leading modules with higher-frequency inverters.
The essence of the proposed control method consists in the fact that several leading modules are used in the uninterruptible power supply, in the inverters of which the main feedback is voltage. The output currents of the inverters of the leading modules are summarized and divided by the number of working leading modules, and the quotient from the division is compared with the output current of each inverter, the difference is fed to the inverter input as additional feedback. Thus, the output currents of the leading inverters are aligned. The signal of the total output current of the leading inverters is fed to the inputs of each of the inverters of the slave modules, in which the current feedback is the main one.

12.A device for implementing the proposed method for controlling parallel-connected modules of an uninterruptible power supply (Fig. 1) comprises a
The leading-
23.The outputs of all modules are combined and connected to the
In FIG. Figure 2 shows the processes of pulse-width conversion of electrical energy of 450 V DC into 220 V AC sinusoidal current, with a frequency of 50 Hz. The uninterruptible power supply contains four modules: two leading and two slave. The carrier frequency of the pulse width modulation in this example for all modules is 3.33 kHz. It also illustrates emergency shutdown processes at time t 1 of one of the slave modules (third). At the same time in FIG. 2 shows the processes when turned on instead of a failed additional slave module at time t 3 . The figure shows the diagrams: 24 - output voltage pulses of the inverter of the first leading module; 25 - output voltage pulses of the inverter of the second leading module; 26 and 27 are the output voltage pulses of the inverters of the slave modules (3 and 4, respectively), as well as
The same diagrams depict emergency shutdown processes at time t 2 of one of the leading modules (first). At the same time, the figure shows the processes when turned on instead of the failed additional master module at time t 4 . In the lower part of figure 2 (lower half-plane), curves are shown on the same timeline: 29 - inverter output current of the first leading module; 30 - output current of the inverter of the second master module; 31 and 32 are the output currents of the inverters of the slave modules (3 and 4, respectively), as well as
A method of controlling parallel-connected modules of an uninterruptible power supply is as follows. Using leading modules, voltage of a given shape and magnitude is generated. By means of the slave modules, currents are generated corresponding to the driving signal of the output current of the leading modules and the own transfer coefficient of each slave module. When the outputs of the modules are connected in parallel, the output current of the leading modules can be reduced to a relatively small value due to the filtering functions of the output voltage and providing the static and dynamic characteristics of the uninterruptible power supply. Therefore, the output currents of the slave modules provide almost the entire output power of the uninterruptible power supply and, when the current transfer coefficients are equal, are almost equal.
The master signal (Fig. 1), in this case, sinusoidal, is generated in digital or analog form in
To control the inverters of the
In FIG. 2 shows the processes in a modular uninterruptible power supply in case of failure at time t 1 of one of the slave modules (in this case, module 3). Using
At time t 3 , a new slave module is installed, which leads to the restoration of the values of the
The processes in a modular uninterruptible power supply in the event of a failure at time t 2 of one of the leading modules (in this case, module 1) are shown in FIG. 2. Using
The leading modules of the uninterruptible power supply provide high quality characteristics of the output voltage and have a more complex construction, but low power, in comparison with the slaves. The pulse-width modulation frequency of the leading modules can be chosen much higher than that of the slave ones, which leads to a significant increase in the dynamic performance of the source and the shape of its output voltage.
Separation of modules into master and slave (subordinate principle of module control) allows to achieve high dynamic and load characteristics of uninterruptible power supply. And the use of several leading modules, built on the equivalent (democratic) principle of management, makes it possible to increase the reliability of all the main components and the uninterruptible power supply as a whole.
The proposed control method allows you to configure and improve the reliability of the uninterruptible power supply based on several modules (sources), among which two (one master and one slave) are redundant. The digital control system of a multi-module uninterruptible power supply can also be built with duplication of buses and controllers. As a result, in the event of a failure of one of the modules (any), the latter is switched off by the command of its own controller or as a result of a fuse operation, and the uninterruptible power supply remains operational.
