Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the field of shipbuilding and can be used as a mover of surface and underwater vessels for various purposes instead of traditional propellers to increase the efficiency of the engine and propulsion, the speed of the vessel, maneuverability, survivability of the vessel and the expansion of its navigation zone.
The principle of operation of the propeller is that when the screw rotates, each blade captures a mass of water from the incoming flow and throws it back, giving it additional axial and peripheral speed. The reaction force of this discarded water makes the ship move forward or backward, depending on the direction of rotation of the propeller. It is known that the propeller has a very low efficiency due to large hydrostatic and hydrodynamic losses at the axial inlet and outlet. In fact, the screw works as a propulsion device only at a continuous or increasing pace of rotation, in other cases - like a brake. Really achievable screw efficiency does not exceed 45%, ideal - 75%. It is almost impossible to make an “ideal” screw due to the constant change in its operating conditions, in addition, the screw is subject to cavitation.
The authors propose to consider, as an alternative to a propeller, a water-jet propulsion hydro-volumetric principle of operation in the form of a gear pump, several times smaller than the propeller in size, but capable of creating the same water flow with a lower drive power as the propeller, or, at the same power , create a water stream with greater kinetic energy.
To confirm this, we consider the parameters of the water flow created by a gear pump of a special design, a multi-section monoblock gear pump of a planetary arrangement, with a power of 28,000 kW, where the central gear or the sun gear is the drive gear, and the driven ones, planetary, located at a uniform angular distance from the sun at an equal angular distance from each other, forming in meshing with each other, solar sections, independent in discharge pressure and productivity, in a multisection monoblock pump . The number of driven gears determines the number of sections in a monoblock pump.
Consider an example of calculating a three-section pump with a capacity of 24000-25000 kW.
The power consumption of the gear pump is determined by the formula:
N=Q х Р х КПД: 612,N = Q x P x Efficiency: 612,
где N - мощность в кВт,where N is the power in kW,
Q - производительность в л/мин, Q - productivity in l / min,
2.P is the discharge pressure of the pump in kg / cm 2 .

To change the power of the water flow up or down, it is necessary either to change the speed of rotation of the gears or the pressure of the gears, the dependence in this case is directly proportional, or change the parameters of the gearing of the gears.
The purpose of the proposed invention is to increase the speed of the vessel, maneuverability, lower sound power, expansion of the navigation area and increase the survivability of the vessel.
This goal is achieved by the fact that a single-section or multi-section gear pump is used as a propeller, outboard water is supplied to each section through radial suction channels in the ship’s hull, which turn into water-jet when reversing, and the discharge channel of each section is combined into a common water-jet nozzle, which turns into a suction channel for sea water; the jet nozzle is equipped with an adjustable nozzle to change the reactive force vector of the jet stream. In the bow of the vessel, you can install an additional gear pump, single-section or multi-section, equipping it perpendicular to the axis of the vessel with discharge jets to accelerate the maneuver.
A multi-section gear pump can have a planetary arrangement, the central gear of which forms separate sections of a multi-section pump with driven gears according to the technical solution according to RF Patent for invention No. 2300019 “Method for pumping non-lubricating liquids by a gear pump).
2.A general view of the mover is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
In the aft compartment of the vessel 1 with a drive from the
In the bow compartment of the vessel, a similar gear pump can also be placed in addition to the main propulsion at the stern of the vessel, but of a lower capacity, with an independent drive from an electric motor and with the same intake channels and 4 water-jet channels located diametrically to each other and adjustable to accelerate horizontal or vertical maneuvers.
Another option for the use of a multi-section monoblock pump in addition to the main propulsion engine is the additional placement of its water-jet channels on both sides of the vessel to create lateral movement (crab movement) of the vessel during complex maneuvers, which is almost impossible with screw propellers.
The work of the mover.
When the drive gear of the
When reversing, and the gear pump is stopped when the drive is switched off instantly, because there are no freely rotating inertial masses in the pump; the opposite happens. The nozzle 6 and the channels 5 included therein turn into outboard water suction channels, and the
Thus, a jet-type reversible jet propulsion device is completely protected from external damaging effects because it is located inside the ship's hull. This mover is not affected by the speed of sea water, there is no loss of drive power to slip. The boat can lie down on the ground, move sideways, move in reverse.
