Description

The present invention relates to a toe cap for safety shoes, for example, shoes used in workshops or other industrial premises, when there is a risk, to a greater or lesser extent, that objects of various types will be hit on the toes.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a toe cap which, while providing the same protection from a safety point of view as any conventional toe cap, provides a higher degree of comfort for the user, more specifically improving the evaporation of sweat in the shoe, of which it forms part.

The objective of the invention is also to provide this improvement in the evaporation of sweat for the feet without impairing moisture resistance, as this type of safety shoe is often used in very humid or waterlogged environments.

It is known that some types of safety shoes contain a toe cap placed under the toe of the shoe as a protective element for the toes. This toe cap is made of a very hard material, such as steel, which is very resistant to both shock and punching.

Regardless of whether this part is made of steel or heavy-duty plastic, and regardless of its ability to serve as protection from a safety point of view, this type of toe cap has the problem that the shoe, of which it forms part, is uncomfortable, since it does not allow sweat from the leg to evaporate through the front, where the shoes are tight and waterproof at the location of the protective toe cap.

This type of toe cap can sometimes include a piece of plastic on its trailing edge to protect the foot from rubbing against the edge of the specified edge. This plastic part is attached with glue, which entails disadvantages, in general consisting in the following:

- the time taken by the workers to attach these parts is too long with the financial consequences that follow;

- it is equally important that you need to wait for a certain period of time until the glue dries, before the worker can perform the next manual operation;

- this type of connection has a limited service life, which is desirable to increase;

- and, finally, the environmental damage caused by the use of industrial adhesives should also be noted.

The toe cap disclosed in the present invention completely and optimally eliminates the above disadvantages, providing excellent ventilation or evaporation of sweat in the shoes, including the area around the toe cap, despite the presence of the specified protective toe cap.

This is achieved by the fact that said protective toe cap is formed by a piercing-resistant part of any suitable very hard material, like any ordinary protective toe cap, but it has a distinctive feature, which consists in the fact that it includes many small holes arranged in such a way to allow air to pass through. These holes are complemented by a membrane, appropriately mounted on the body of the toe cap, permeable to air, but at the same time forming a barrier against the penetration of moisture and water.

The membrane is preferably placed in a small groove in the part forming the protective toe cap, and is attached to it using a suitable adhesive.

Logically reasoning, the passage of air through the holes is facilitated by leg movements and continuous changes in the relative position of the legs and shoes, as well as during their movement.

In cases where the toe cap includes a plastic part placed on its rear edge, said edge has a stepwise decrease in thickness to form a peripheral wing, in which there are a number of through holes arranged so that said wing can receive a plastic part, which is light and flexible and which is held fixed to the toe cap. This plastic part is made by molding on a toe cap in two stages: the first stage, on which a thin sheet of plastic is also installed on the inner and outer surface of the wing, also having holes coaxial with the holes described above, and the second stage, where the specified sheet is closed with through holes located on said wing, having a highly flexible plastic material, the thickness of which gradually decreases in the backward direction.

In this way, a one-piece toe cap has a long service life and significantly reduces the assembly time of the shoe in which it will be installed.

Brief Description of the Drawings

To supplement the description below and to better understand the distinguishing features of the invention and the practical variant of its implementation, several illustrative and non-limiting drawings are included as an integral part of this description.

Figure 1 shows a top view in perspective of a protective toe cap for shoes, made according to the present invention, but without a closing membrane hole, to illustrate these holes.

Figure 2 is a view similar to Figure 1, which shows the membrane on a toe cap at the final stage of its attachment with glue, also for the sake of clarity of illustration of the structure.

Figure 3 shows a perspective view of a protective part having a peripheral wing for mounting and positioning a flexible part.

FIG. 4 is a view similar to FIG. 3, in which a part of the protective toe cap is shown at the final assembly point, that is, the part made of flexible plastic is mounted on a stepwise reduction in thickness forming the rear peripheral wing.

FIG. 5 shows a detailed sectional view along the line AB in FIG. 4.

Preferred Embodiment

As shown in the drawings, the toe cap disclosed in the invention contains a durable part (1) having dimensions that provide the ability to protect the toes, made of a material with high resistance to shock and punching, which is part of the shoe toe in which it is installed accordingly , completely in accordance with any ordinary protective toe cap.

Starting from its basic design, the disclosed toe cap is characterized in that said part body (1) includes a plurality of small holes (2) providing a direct connection between the upper surface and the lower or inner surface, and that said body is therefore permeable to air.

These holes are closed by a membrane (3), which is shown installed in the body (1) in figure 2. The specified membrane is permeable to air, so that the holes (2) are working, and impervious to water, forming a barrier against moisture and water.

Although the adhesive (4) located on the inner surface of the membrane (3) may be sufficient to hold said membrane (3) on the body (1), it is suggested that the area of the part (1) for receiving and placing the membrane (3) is slightly deepened, forming a small depression (5) in which said membrane (3) is enclosed and placed in a completely stable manner.

It remains only to note that in the example embodiment shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the holes (2) are located in an area having approximately the shape of a circle segment, and the number of holes is six. The configuration and design of the specified area, as well as the size and number of holes can vary significantly to meet any design criteria, if this does not affect the essence of the invention.

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 3, 4 and 5, the toe piece (1 ′) having the same features as the item in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a distinctive feature, which is that it includes a strip (6) of flexible plastic placed in the back of the specified part (1 ') of the toe. To receive the specified strip, the wall of the specified part (1 ') has a stepwise decrease (7) in thickness, both inside and outside, and these areas of reduced thickness can be aligned or not aligned relative to each other, as in the example of FIGS. 3, 4 and 5, the lower region of reduced width is wider than the upper region of reduced width, both regions form a wing (8) on which through holes (9) are conveniently located, having the square shape in the shown embodiment, but of course they can have any other configuration, if this does not affect the invention.

On both sides of the specified wing (8) formed on the specified part (1 ') of the toe, two thin strips (6) of plastic are installed by molding, having reliable holes coaxial with the holes (9) in the wing, so that in the second stage molding said wing (8), and the sheets (6), and the holes (9) are closed with a highly flexible plastic material, going back, forming an elastic wing (10) by lengthening the part (1 ') of the toe, preventing the leg from rubbing against the edge of the rigid material formed by the open part of the specified part (1 ') moreover, the thickness of the plastic material decreases gradually in the backward direction. When this operation is completed, receive a one-piece toe cap, the elements of which are firmly connected through the holes (9) and which has a long service life.

Claims (4)

1. A protective toe cap for shoes, containing a rigid body with a high degree of resistance to both shock and punching, in the form of a durable casing, having dimensions that allow installation and fastening inside the front of the shoe in the toe area, the rigid body having many small holes, suitably positioned to allow air to pass through them and, therefore, to allow perspiration to evaporate through the shoes in an area corresponding to the toe-cap, characterized in that the area is stiff of the body (1) with holes (2) closed by a membrane (3) of a material which, being permeable to air, forms a barrier against water and moisture. 2. A protective toe cap for shoes according to claim 1, characterized in that the rigid body (1) includes, in the area of the holes (2), more specifically in the area of location and within the dimensions of the membrane (3), a small external recess (5) for placement and protection of the specified membrane (3). 3. A protective toe cap for shoes according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that along the rear edge, both inside and outside, there are two stepwise decreases (7) in thickness, forming a wing (8) along which there are a number of through holes ( 9) so that on both sides of the wing (8) thin strips (6) of plastic are placed with strong holes, coaxial holes located on the wing (8), moreover, the strips (6) and the wing (8) and holes (9) closed by a wing-shaped part (10) made of highly flexible plastic, which extends from the wing (8) in the backward direction, pr than the assembly as a whole is a one-piece component. 4. A protective toe cap for shoes according to claim 3, characterized in that the wing (10) of flexible material has a decreasing thickness in the backward direction.
