Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for drying lignin-containing raw materials and can be used for the processing of waste hydrolysis lignin in the biochemical industry, the processing of peat in the peat industry. Hydrolytic lignin is a sawdust-like mass with a moisture content of 65-70%. In its composition, it is a complex of substances, which includes the lignin of the plant cell itself, part of the polysaccharides, a group of substances of the ligno-humic complex, mineral and organic acids, ash and other substances that are not washed after hydrolysis of the monosaccharide.
Hydrolytic lignin is distinguished by its ability to go into a viscoplastic state when a pressure of about 100 MPa is applied. This circumstance predetermined one of the promising areas for the use of hydrolysis lignin in the form of briquetted material - lump fuel.
By structure, a particle of hydrolytic lignin is not a dense body, but is a developed system of micro- and macropores; the value of its inner surface is determined by humidity (for wet lignin it is 760-790 m 2 / g, and for dry only 6 m 2 / g).
One of the main processes for the production of lump fuel is the drying of lignin to 7-10% moisture. This is a costly and time-consuming process, significantly affecting the cost of production. Methods for drying hydrolysis lignin in driers and tumble dryers are widely known and described.
Closest to the proposed one is a method of drying a natural lignin-containing material, implemented on a belt dryer for granular peat (Utility Model Certificate RU N 4592, IPC F26B 17/04, 1997) and comprising supplying wet material to the dryer, heating in the drying space, permeable to air, with gentle movement of the material in a thin layer without stirring, keeping at a temperature higher than the saturation temperature of water vapor to release moisture vapor, removal of moisture vapor from the dryer of the space and discharging dry material.
The closest device to the proposed one is a drum dryer that provides non-contact drying of the material, containing a drum rotating along the longitudinal axis with blade tips on the inner surface and heating elements in the form of flame tubes located inside the drum, each flame tube made in the form of a multi-pass register with a removable end nozzle on the side of the discharge unit, equipped with an external longitudinal finning and an ejection fuel nozzle inside (Author's witness only SU N 1032297, MKI F26B 11/04, 1983).
The general principle of drying both of the above methods is to heat the material with hot air, with a temperature exceeding the saturation temperature of water vapor to release moisture vapor from the material.
The advantages of this method include the provision of a gentle drying mode without destroying the structure of the material, the ability to use it for drying explosive materials. The disadvantages include the low productivity of the drying process. The advantages of the known device include its high performance, and the disadvantages are the creation of an explosive situation, because the drying process is accompanied by grinding of the processed material, which leads to an increase in its concentration in the drying space to critical.
The objective of the present invention is to provide a high-performance and safe process for a day hydrolysis lignin while maintaining its structure and useful properties.
To solve the technical problem in the drying process of lignin, a microwave microwave oven was used and microwave radiation was used. Microwave microwave oven is designed so that in it the electrical energy is converted into the energy of electromagnetic waves. Penetrating into raw lignin, microwaves cause water molecules to vibrate in resonance with their own frequency, that is, several billion vibrations per second. Oscillations of water molecules with such a frequency cause intense heating of lignin, as it were, “from the inside”, the Brownian motion of water molecules increases sharply, causing them to “fly out” of lignin. Moist air from the oven is removed by the kiln fan. Lignin is aged in the oven for 10-15 minutes, depending on its humidity. For drying in a microwave oven, lignin is supplied in granular form.

The invention is expressed in the fact that lignin with a natural moisture content of 65-70% in granular form is dried to a moisture content of 7-10% in a microwave oven using electromagnetic microwave waves.
Microwave microwave ovens are widely used in the food industry. In the industrial production of microwave ovens are used for drying cork, ceramics, leather, textiles.
Drying hydrolysis lignin is as follows.
Granular lignin with a natural moisture content of 65-70% is fed into the microwave. The microwave oven turns on and begins to generate microwave electromagnetic radiation. Penetrating into raw lignin, microwaves cause water molecules to oscillate at their own frequency, that is, several billion vibrations per second, which causes an increase in Brownian motion of water molecules, heating lignin and the release of water molecules from raw materials. Moisture from the oven is removed by a fan. Lignin is aged in the oven for 10-15 minutes, depending on its humidity. After drying the lignin to 7-10% moisture, it is removed from the furnace, while the granular lignin in the furnace does not mix and does not form an explosive dust-gas mixture. This method of drying is fleeting, safe from the point of view of the explosiveness of lignin.
