Abstract

Perforated holes are available in a part of tube wall externally covered with deodorizing filler layer manufactured from porous material with sticking ribbon coating the layer to hinder uncontrolled evaporation. Device size is selected so that it could be placed in front of patient nose when fixing the plates on nose bridge. The device is enclosed into plastic package filled with neutral medium hindering deodorant from evaporation. The deodorizing filler has capillaries narrowing from tube axis to outside.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment; reduced deodorant consumption.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to medical equipment, in particular to devices for the release of volatile aromatic substances into the air, which have therapeutic effects on patients.

The term "aromatherapy" was introduced into practice by the French chemist and pharmacist Dr. Rene M. Gattefosse in 1928 and means: "the use of smell as a medicine." Now it is one of the most progressive areas of medicine. In the art of aromatherapy, essential oils are used, i.e. volatile odorous liquid mixtures of organic substances released from different parts of plants and trees, which have a number of healing properties and do not give harmful side effects, unlike artificial chemical drugs.

. State of the art

Currently, the most common ways to use essential oils or their mixtures as aromatherapy is to breathe air through hand and other inhalers (glass, plastic, etc.) or vaporizers, as well as massage by a qualified aromatherapist, or self-massage. Other aromatherapy methods include baths, compresses, a sauna, a bath, and room aromatization using aerial lamps, oriental hookahs (chillim) or sandalwood, as well as the most recent flavoring cigarettes. Examples of the use of aromatherapy in everyday life are patents obtained in various countries of the world: an aromatic ball made from the shell of a sea urchin; fragrance ring for table lamp; interchangeable inhaler cartridge for aromatic and medicinal plants installed in a special smoking pipe head; aromatic design for a lapel of clothes, etc. (G.V. All of the listed methods of aromatherapy require a special released time for the relevant procedures, depending on certain (often very expensive) rooms. It is noted that inhalation therapy requires 5-10 times less drugs than with other methods of administration (N.S. Leonova. Aromatherapy for beginners. M.: Publishing House: Grand Trading House. A device for aromatization of air, containing a container for aromatic substances, an evaporator, a device for creating an air flow and a control system (Patent application of Germany No. 3809120, M. CL ³ : A 61 L 9/12, 1984).

A disadvantage of the known analogue is the independence of the release of aromatic substances from physiologically significant changes in the state of the air.

The closest in technical essence to the proposed one is the method of aromatization of air chosen by us as a prototype, in which a pocket inhaler with deodorizing filler is placed on the inlet of the patient’s nasal cavity (RU No. 2188673, class A 61 M 15/08, 9/01, 2000 g.).

The disadvantage of the prototype is the inconvenience of use due to the need to disinfect the tubes inserted into the nasal cavities, and the possibility of injury to the latter.

Disclosure of invention

The objective of the invention is to increase the effectiveness of the air flavor.

To achieve the corresponding technical result, the aromatherapy device comprises a tube made of an elastic synthetic material rolled in the form of an incomplete ring, having plates placed at the ends of the tube perpendicular to the tube axis and filled with a deodorant, through holes are made in the walls of the tube part, coated on the outside with a layer of deodorizing filler made of porous material, over which an adhesive tape is applied, which prevents the uncontrolled evaporation of the deodorant.

The dimensions of the device are selected from the conditions of comfortable placement of the deodorizing filler under the patient’s nose when fixing the plates on his nose.

The device can be placed in a vacuum bag filled with a neutral medium that prevents evaporation of the deodorant.

The deodorizing filler has capillaries narrowing from the tube axis to the outside.

Brief Description of the Drawing

The attached drawing shows a diagram of the device, where 1 is a body in the form of a tube of elastic synthetic material folded into an incomplete ring, at the ends of which there are plates 2 in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the tube, or rather, at a certain angle to it, selected from the conditions of convenient fixing on nose bridge and comfortable breathing. The dimensions of the housing 1 and the plates 2 are selected from the conditions of placement of the deodorizing filler under the patient’s nose when fixing the plates on the nose. A layer of deodorizing filler 3 made of a porous material is applied to part of the housing 1, under which through holes 4 are made in the wall of the housing 1 (the porosity of the material assumes its significant evaporation area). The internal cavity of the housing 1 is filled with deodorant 5, intended for the treatment and prevention of relevant pathologies. Outside, the layer 3 of the deodorizing filler is covered with adhesive tape 6, which prevents the uncontrolled evaporation of the deodorant 5. For this purpose, a vacuum bag filled with a neutral medium that prevents evaporation of the deodorant when the device is placed in it can also be used. For this, the pressure of the medium must exceed the pressure of saturated vapor of the deodorant. After filling the internal cavity of the housing 1 with deodorant, the outer surfaces of the deodorizing filler 3 are sealed with adhesive tape 6 or the flavor is packaged in a vacuum package and labeled according to the professional recommendations of the aromatherapist and patient indications.

Unlike vacuum packaging, which makes the device virtually disposable, i.e. completely used after the loss of smell, its version with adhesive tape provides not only reusability (after each procedure, deodorizing filler 3 can be sealed with adhesive tape 6 again), but also allows you to adjust the flavoring rate by removing the adhesive tape from part of the deodorizing filler 3.

In order to effectively supply deodorant to the surface of the deodorizing filler 3, the latter has capillaries narrowing from the tube axis to the outside, which are known to be able to draw liquid from the bottom up.

The implementation of the invention

The device operates as follows.

In the initial position of the flavoring, its deodorizing filler 3, filled with deodorant 5, due to through holes 4 in the walls of the housing 1 does not evaporate the deodorant 5, as this is prevented by adhesive tape 6.

In operating position, the flavor is as follows. The patient independently tears off the adhesive tape 6 or part thereof, which prevents the uncontrolled evaporation of deodorant 5, depending on the desired mode of flavor release, the body 1 extends with fingers so that the plates 2 cover the nose, fixed on it, due to the elasticity of the material of the body 1. Since the deodorizing filler is located at the bottom of the device, the deodorant wets it under the action of gravity and is used to the last drop. When using capillaries tapering outward, it is possible to achieve a uniform leakage of deodorant to both the lower and upper surfaces of the deodorizing filler 3 even with small residual deodorant volumes. In this case, deodorant 5 evaporates, providing the patient with appropriate therapeutic effects (asthma or other diseases). To prolong the action of the device after a certain time, when the aroma of the deodorant becomes less saturated, the surface area of the deodorizing filler 3 freed from the adhesive tape is increased.

Technical Results

- The inhaler is comfortably placed in front of the patient’s nose by attaching a clothespin to the bridge of the nose, without damaging the nasal cavity as a prototype.

- The presence of a porous pad provides uniform evaporation of the deodorant without fear of liquid entering the nasal cavity.

- The use of an inhaler is not associated with any hygienic contraindications, as in the prototype.

- There is a saving of essential oils both by coating the surface with adhesive tape and by dosing the deodorant applied to the porous material.

In accordance with the objective of the invention, its main technical result is to increase the effectiveness of the flavor by attaching directly to the nose of the patient, which allows for low deodorant costs and a very simple device design to ensure its effective impact on the user, without waiting for the entire volume of the room to be filled (as you know, when inhalation therapy requires 5-10 times less drugs than with other methods of administration (N.S. Leonova. Aromatherapy for beginners, ms. 52)).

Together with the well-known property of the body: the placement of a deodorant in it, it has a new property: it is attached to the nose of the patient due to the elastic properties of the material. As a result, the patient can carry out aromatherapy without waiting until the entire room is filled with drug vapors.

Additional technical results are independence from the place and time of use (in the case of, for example, an asthma attack, the patient can immediately use the appropriate deodorant), the lack of need for special rooms, the possibility of use at the workplace, as well as the regulation of the dose of deodorant (by removing part of the adhesive tape) , which is especially important for the correction of patients with increased meteosensitivity (diseases of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems). After the procedure, the deodorizing filler 5 may again be sealed with adhesive tape 6 for further use.

In contrast to the prototype, in which the tubes are inserted into the nostrils, we can state the civilized (at least hygienic) level of use of the invention.

In this regard, one can note the exotic element of the procedure for using the proposed device, which is not without piquancy, associated with the decoration of some peoples of Africa and Polynesia - a nose ring. Its attractiveness can be enhanced by the vibrant coloring of the inhaler.
