Abstract
FIELD: shipbuilding; designing shipboard rigging for various classes of ships.
SUBSTANCE: method of creating thrust with the aid of rigging consists in forming vertical air flow with the aid of air blower and using interaction of this vertical air flow with pennant wind flow around rigging. Thrust in rigging is created by at least one vertical flow of expanding heated air formed by at least one heating unit and at least one flow of cold air entrapped in motion by flow of expanding heated air and at least one incoming flow of pennant wind flowing horizontally around rigging; pennant wind arises due to motion of ship under action of said air flows acting together on one sail of rigging mounted in such way that its projection on horizontal plane in direction coinciding with direction of motion of one of flows is not equal to zero. Rigging includes at least one sail, harness for this rigging and air blower mounted on board ship. Air blower is made in form of heating unit creating one vertical flow of expanding heated air and one flow of cold air entrapped in motion by expanding heated air and one air flow of pennant wind flowing around rigging; pennant wind arises due to motion of ship under action of said flows of air acting together on one sail mounted in such way that its projection on horizontal plane in direction coinciding with direction of motion of at least one of flows is not equal to zero.
EFFECT: possibility of motion of ship under any wind situation without use of additional propulsor.
