Abstract

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method involves treating face and neck skin with low intensity extremely high frequency radiation of mm wave bandwidth in combination with natural mineral massage. The extremely high frequency radiation treatment is carried out in 118-180 GHz frequency bandwidth. Natural minerals like nephrite, amethyst and amber are used. Treatment is carried out along massage lines of cervico-facial area by applying tangential movements. Skin is covered with curative remedies next to it. Automatic retuning mode is on to retune extremely high frequency oscillator operation allover the whole operation frequency bandwidth. The extremely high frequency signal is modulated with low frequency impulses from 2 Hz to 1 kHz. One session is 20-45 min long. The number of sessions is equal to 7-15 with 1-3 days long pauses between them. The device has extremely high frequency oscillator, radiator as flexible round dielectric wave guide having conic thickening, removable headpiece with a natural mineral plate. Description

The invention relates to medicine, in particular to dermatology and cosmetology.

The therapeutic effect of low-intensity electromagnetic radiation of extremely high frequencies (EHF) of the millimeter (mm) wave range is known to cure various human diseases [1]. Usually, for this purpose, the topography of the Zakharyin-Ged zones and acupuncture points (BAP), characteristic of reflexology, are used. Treatment is carried out by EHF generators in the frequency range 42-120 GHz with an output power of up to 10 mW / cm ² . In this case, the emitter of the generator is directed to the irradiated area of the skin or BAP, the maximum area of the exposure is 2-4 cm ² .

The closest analogue to the proposed method is a method of influencing the skin of the face and body, which involves irradiating the EHF of the EHF range, with the hardware complex "EHF Electronics" [6]. The hardware complex is intended for EHF-therapy, and is also used in dermatology.

The disadvantages of this method are:

- exposure is carried out by only one biophysical factor EMP EHF mm waves in a narrow frequency band 61 ± 1.5 GHz;

- there is no possibility of a contact method of skin stimulation required during massage;

- the design of the EHF apparatus creates significant inconvenience and difficulty in carrying out cosmetic and dermatological procedures.

The healing effect of natural minerals on the human body is known [5]. Minerals such as amethyst, jade, amber through direct contact with the skin during massage have a positive effect on it [5]. Massage is carried out by various devices: ball-roller massagers, massage sticks, balls.

The objective of the invention is to create an effective method of treating a number of dermatological diseases, eliminating certain cosmetic skin defects, rejuvenating the skin of the face and neck and developing a device for its implementation, using the combined effects of low-intensity EHF radiation of mm waves in a wide frequency range with natural minerals and therapeutic components: gels, creams, oils.

The essence of the invention lies in the fact that they are exposed to EHF radiation in the frequency range 118-180 GHz in combination with massage with natural minerals: jade, amethyst, amber. EHF emitter-massager (IM) with a replaceable nozzle, the end section of which is closed with a plate of natural mineral, apply tangential movements with compression along the massage lines of the cervical-facial region to the skin, then apply therapeutic components to the skin: gels, creams, oils, during skin stimulations include a sweep mode, that is, automatic tuning of the EHF generator over the entire operating frequency range, the EHF signal is modulated with low-frequency pulses from 2 Hz to 1 KHz and the nozzles with minerals are changed, the time of one session is different o depending on the nosology, is 20-45 minutes with the number of sessions from 7 to 15, with an interval of 1-3 days between sessions.

The mechanism of action of low-intensity non-thermal EHF EHF on the skin is due to a variety of primary manifestations of the interaction of mm waves with biological structures of the skin. When exposed to the skin, receptor fields, microcirculatory network, nerve endings, intercellular fluid are involved in the response, and there is a direct effect on the biophysical and biochemical processes in the cell [2].

Water molecules play a significant role in various biophysical effects involving mm waves and this is due to the strong absorption of EHF radiation by H ₂ O molecules. Considering that human skin contains more than 60% of water, the interaction of mm waves with water results in stimulation and normalization of various processes of cellular metabolism of skin structures [3]. The absorption spectra of water molecules, oxygen and nitric oxide are in the frequency range of 118-180 GHz.

The stimulating effect of EMR EHF on immunocompetent cells is also known [4]. Skin is an important component of the body’s immune system. For example, T cells mediating cellular immunity are found in the epidermis. The effect of mm waves on immunocompetent cells is relevant in the treatment of dermatological diseases [4]. Under the influence of EHF EHF mm-waves, the diffusion of the therapeutic components of creams, gels, oils into the inner layers of the epidermis, as well as the blood supply to the skin and lymph flow, improves [2].

The use of EHF-therapy combined with natural minerals enhances the effect on cellular structures.

The main indicators of the effectiveness of the method are the following:

- treatment with good results of acne, the initial stages of furunculosis, erysipelas, psoriasis, herpes, thermal and chemical burns of the I-II degree, a certain type of dermatitis: allergic, infectious and inflammatory, seborrheic, pigmented;

- normalization of fat metabolism: the disappearance of the "greasy" shine of the skin, the elimination of comedones of the T-zone, the skin becomes matte pink.

- increasing turgor and skin elasticity: smoothing wrinkles and pronounced folds, eliminating enlarged pores, tightening the upper and lower eyelids with eliminating small wrinkles, smoothing out unevenness and tuberosity of the skin, lifting effect for the chin and neck, improving the appearance of the skin with a rejuvenating effect;

- improvement of capillary circulation and lymph flow: elimination or significant reduction of stagnant "bags under the eyes", elimination of rosacea mesh;

- elimination or lightening of age spots with improved uniformity of pigmentation of the skin of the face and neck;

- treatment of cicatricial changes in the skin with a limitation period of up to 6 months, a length of up to 6 cm and an area of up to 9 cm ² : postoperative, post-traumatic, burn, as well as striae and stretch marks.

The proposed method is implemented as follows.

After preliminary cleaning of the skin, the EHF emitter-massager (IM) is brought to the face or neck and gently moved along the cosmetic lines of the cervical-facial region with compression, then therapeutic components are applied to the skin: gels, creams, oils and the procedure continues.

The impact is carried out by longitudinal and transverse dashed, circular or other movements, depending on the relief of the treated area and the type of dermatological disease or cosmetic defect. The defect itself or the problem area are subject to more intensive correction. For example, smoothing wrinkles and folds is achieved by smooth scanning of the MI along it for 15-20 seconds. An area with enlarged pores, acne, or a scar is stimulated by circular or dashed movements along the surface of the problem area. In the course of therapeutic cosmetic correction, to increase the efficiency of face and neck stimulation, the generator frequency tuning mode is activated over the entire operating frequency range, the EHF signal is modulated by low-frequency pulses from 2 Hz to 1 KHz, and the MI nozzles are replaced with natural minerals. The time of the procedure is different, depending on the nosological form of the disease, as well as on the number or type of cosmetic skin defects and is on average 20-45 minutes. The first results of the procedures are noted after 2-3 sessions. To obtain the greatest effect, a course of 7-15 sessions is required, with an interval of 1-3 days.

The method is illustrated by the following examples.

Example 1

Patient S., age 19 years.

The patient has multiple acnae vulgaris of various stages of inflammatory manifestations: from infiltration papules to pustular rashes, skin irritation similar to local dermatitis, the function of the sebaceous glands is impaired: the skin glistens from excess fat secretions, multiple T-zone comedones.

As a result of a course of treatment of 15 sessions with an interval of 1-2 days between sessions using the above method, a pronounced therapeutic effect was obtained: the facial skin cleansed with the elimination of inflammatory manifestations, there were single papules (2-3 pcs.); eliminated T-zone comedones; the skin has become matte and elastic without grease. During treatment, anti-inflammatory creams and gels were used.

Example 2

Patient S., age 37 years.

Diagnosis: allergic dermatitis. Allergic tests were performed. An allergy to paint and sealant has been identified. On the skin of the face, neck, hands, areas of redness and peeling with multiple inflammatory papules with a diameter of 3-8 mm, itching, traces of scratching.

14 sessions were conducted for 20 minutes every other day with a good result: all inflammatory elements disappeared, the skin was smooth without inflammatory changes. In the treatment, antihistamines were used in combination: clarefin, azolin. Locally applied: miramisin, loriden A.

Example 3

Patient B., age 38 years.

The patient underwent cosmetic peeling of the face with fruit acids 3 months ago for cosmetic purposes, as a complication of the procedure, the patient had a chemical burn of the skin of the frontal and orbital areas of the face of the I-II degree with an outcome in local dermatitis and hyperpigmentation. The patient underwent a treatment course of 15 sessions with an interval of 1-2 days between sessions in the above way.

As a result of the treatment: hyperpigmentation of the skin and the phenomenon of dermatitis were eliminated, the skin leveled off, acquired a matte pink color. During treatment, clarifying and anti-inflammatory creams, lifting gels were used.

Example 4

Patient P., age 35 years.

The patient has a post-traumatic keloid type scar of the upper lip 4 cm long after suturing at the stump a month ago. The treatment was carried out in the above manner for 12 sessions, 1-2 days between sessions.

As a result of the treatment, a good cosmetic effect was obtained: the scar is significantly smoothed, almost invisible, and is a filiform connective tissue formation. During treatment the following were used: contractubex, lifting gel.

Example 5

Patient K., age 45 years.

An earthy complexion, wide pores on the cheeks, nose, nose, chin. Under the eyes are "bags". Deep longitudinal wrinkles on the forehead, pronounced nasolabial folds, wrinkles around the eyes. The skin is uneven, oily. Sharp longitudinal fold on the chin.

As a result of a course of treatment of 10 sessions of the procedures described above: the patient's complexion improved, the sebaceous gland function normalized, the skin leveled, pores decreased, wrinkles around the eyes almost disappeared, wrinkles on the forehead smoothed out, the sharp fold on the chin leveled, “bags” under the eyes decreased significantly, skin turgor increased, submandibular fat fold decreased. During the procedures used: nourishing creams, lifting gels.

Example 6

Patient F., age 41 years.

Deep longitudinal wrinkles on the forehead, rosacea mesh on the cheeks, wrinkles in the corners of the eyes. Roughness, roughness of the skin of the chin. Wide pores of the T-zone.

Conducted 9 sessions of procedures after 1-2 days each. As a result: the skin of the face lightened, the pores significantly decreased, small wrinkles in the corners of the eyes smoothed out. Frontal wrinkles are almost invisible. The unevenness of the skin of the chin was eliminated. The couperose mesh on the cheeks disappeared. General condition of the skin: elastic, with good turgor. Example 7

Patient T., age 47 years.

Shallow wrinkles on the forehead, nose, around the eyes. Wide pores on the forehead and nose. Rugged, bumpy skin on the chin. A pigmented spot at the left temple. Pigmented skin 2-3 cm ² on the right side of the forehead. Nasolabial folds. After 12 treatment sessions, after 1-2 days, wrinkles under the eyes, on the forehead, each disappeared. The area of skin on the right side of the forehead lightened, acquired a healthy appearance. A pigmented spot near the temple brightened. The skin on the chin has leveled off, the pores are significantly reduced. The nasolabial folds were leveled. The skin of the face became elastic, the oval of the face changed. In the treatment the following was used: lifting gels, creams, clarifying oil.

The results of seven years of practical observations showed that the developed method and device for its implementation provide a pronounced integrated therapeutic effect on average in 87% of patients. No negative side effects were noted.

The closest analogue to the claimed device in terms of essential features is the hardware complex "EHF Electronics" [6], which is intended for EHF-therapy and is used in cosmetology and dermatology. The apparatus contains a generator unit (BG) with a horn emitter, which is mounted on a tripod that provides spatial orientation of the BG in the desired direction of irradiation and a separate unit: power, control, control.

When used in cosmetology and dermatology, this device has a number of significant disadvantages:

- the device has a narrow frequency band EMR EHF-61 1.5 GHz;

- the design of the BG with the mount on a tripod has significant mass-dimensional characteristics (weight over 2 kg);

- there is no way to implement a contact method of exposure to the skin;

- the design of the hinged attachment of the BG to the tripod and the tripod itself is inactive, which creates inconvenience during cosmetic and dermatological procedures.

The objective of the proposed device is to increase the effectiveness of the treatment of a number of dermatological diseases, eliminate certain cosmetic defects and rejuvenate the skin of the face and neck; development of the design of the device, convenient in operation during therapeutic dermatological and cosmetic procedures.

This problem is solved by applying the combined effects of EHF EMR in a wide range of millimeter waves with natural minerals.

The device contains an EHF generator in the frequency range 118-180 GHz, a microprocessor control device that provides manual and automatic frequency tuning over the entire operating range and a low-frequency modulation of the EHF signal with rectangular pulses from 2 Hz to 1 KHz. The output of the generator through the transition connection is coupled to the waveguide path, which consists of a flexible dielectric waveguide 50-60 cm long with a cone-shaped thickening of the radiating part, a 10-15 cm long cylindrical body with a replaceable nozzle, in the end section of which a thin plate of natural mineral is fixed. The dielectric waveguide passes inside the cylindrical body and is fixed in the center by foam holders, the cone-shaped emitter enters the interchangeable nozzle with a gap of 1-2 mm from the plate of a natural mineral: jade, amethyst, amber. The main parameters of the waveguide path are determined based on:

- the length of the dielectric waveguide 50-60 cm is selected from the permissible attenuation parameters of the EHF signal in the waveguide and ease of operation during the procedure;

- the length of the body of the emitter-massager 10-15 cm, based on the convenience of holding it in the hand;

- the gap between the emitter and the plate of mineral 1-2 mm is determined experimentally by the output radiation power from a removable nozzle.

When implementing the claimed invention, a number of both purely medical and technical results can be achieved:

1. The possibility of enhancing skin stimulation due to the combined effects of electromagnetic radiation of EHF and natural minerals: jade, amethyst, amber;

2. The possibility of enhancing the effect on the cellular structures of the skin through the use of EMR EHF in the wavelength range of 2.54-1.67 mm (118-180 GHz), since the molecular absorption and emission spectra of nitric oxide (NO), which are cellular mediator, activating many biochemical processes in the cell, absorption spectra of water molecules and oxygen. The most important biophysical effects of EHF radiation are associated with its strong absorption in water and aqueous solutions. For example, a flat layer of water with a thickness of 1 mm attenuates the wave in the range of 5-7 mm mm waves by 100 times in the range of 1.67-2 mm by 10 ⁴ times.

3. The ability to implement the principle of individual selection of therapeutic frequencies using the automatic frequency adjustment mode of the generator.

4. To create convenient and comfortable conditions during the procedures due to the flexibility of the dielectric waveguide and the low weight of the emitter-massager, which is 20-30 g.

The device operates as follows.

An EHF signal from the generator through a transitional connection enters a flexible dielectric waveguide, then a mineral plate passes from a cone-shaped EMR emitter and acts on the skin, combined with it enhances the effect of a natural mineral plate by direct contact with the skin.

A flexible dielectric waveguide allows a dermatologist-cosmetologist to effortlessly move the MI casing along the surface of the exposure in certain directions, which is necessary to eliminate the manifestations of dermatological diseases, cosmetic defects: wrinkles, stretch marks, scars and medical and cosmetic massage.
