Abstract
Description
The invention relates to animal husbandry, in particular to methods for increasing the reproductive ability of repair pigs by replenishing iodine deficiency in their body.
Т.18. С. 62-67). A known method of growing repair pigs, including the introduction of iodine into the diet (see Korobov A.P., Petrov P.S. Influence of cobalt, iodine and iron salts on the productivity of young pigs: Transactions of the Saratov Veterinary Institute, 1970. V.18. C. 62-67).
However, with the oral administration of iodine top dressing, gastric juice acts on iodine, the acidic environment of which restores it to a molecular state, reducing activity. In addition, iodine, being in the composition with other mineral elements, can lose activity due to interaction with them, such as calcium.
There is a method of increasing the productivity of sows, including a single implantation of iodine under the skin of an animal for a full reproduction cycle in an amount of 21-24 mg per animal, while implantation is carried out 18-20 days before insemination, after signs of sexual hunting (see RF patent 2126626: MKI 6 A 01 K 67/02, A 61 K 33/18; BI 6 - 6 pp. - prototype).
However, the use of this method on repair pigs in the stated doses and terms does not provide their reproductive ability due to various physiological (age, live weight) and technological features of the cultivation.
The specified technical result is achieved by the fact that in the method of increasing the reproductive ability of animals, including a single implantation of iodine under the skin, the implantation is carried out during the weaning of pigs from the uterus (at 1.5-2 months of age) at a dose of 6-9 mg per animal. Such an amount of iodine ensures the active activity of the thyroid gland for the entire period of growing repair pigs (for at least 240 days). Studies have shown that the level of iodine-bound protein in the blood serum was within the normal range (457.0-4888.5 nmol / L), providing optimal formation of the reproductive qualities of the growing animal organism.
The method is as follows: during the period of weaning from the uterus (1.52 months of age) repair subcutaneous punctures are made to the repair pigs once percutaneously on the lateral surface of the ear with a scalpel or a special device to a depth of 4 cm. Iodine is placed in the formed pocket in the form of potassium iodide tablets.
Example 1. A group of pigs (out of 10 goals) of two months old was implanted with 6 mg / goal of iodine. A blood test of these animals showed a constant (457.0-488.5 nmol / L) for the entire period (up to 10 months of age) of the iodine-bound protein in the blood serum.
The previously studied dose of 3 mg / goal of iodine did not provide a normal content of iodine-bound protein for the entire growing period. The prolonged action of this dose is 182 days.
Example 2. A group of sows of 10 goals when weaning them from the uterus (two months of age) was implanted with potassium iodide at a rate of 9 mg / goal of iodine. Throughout the growing period, the level of iodine-bound protein in the blood serum was within the normal range (457.0-488.5 nmol / L) up to 280 days from the start of implantation, i.e., up to 11.5 months of age. A further increase in iodine in a dose is impractical due to the end of the growing period.
Table 1 presents the comparative test scheme of the claimed method with the well-known applied in practice.
The implementation of iodine implantation in pigs a month after weaning significantly worsened reproductive performance, so the optimal period for iodine administration is the weaning period.
2. The results of studies of reproductive organs in repair pigs for 45-49 days of gestation are shown in table 2.
Tests confirmed the effectiveness of the claimed method of increasing the reproductive ability of repair pigs: an increase in the number of embryos by 20-30%, the number of yellow bodies from 7 to 12%, ovarian mass by 24.2-37.5%, and a decrease in embryonic mortality by 60-73% ( to the average value of groups III and IV).
