Abstract
Description
The invention relates to animal husbandry, in particular to methods for increasing the reproductive ability of boars by compensating for iodine deficiency in their body.
There is a method of increasing the reproductive ability of boars-producers, including the introduction of iodine (in the form of potassium iodide) in the diet of boars according to the norms of BASED (0.8 mg per head per day).
- 1970. 12. - Ч.2. - С. 4-8). However, due to the high volatility of iodine in the process of preparation and storage of feed, iodine partially volatilizes, and also collapses, turning into unapproachable forms. In addition, with the oral administration of iodine top dressing, iodine acts on iodine, where iodine in an acidic environment is restored to a molecular state and reduces its activity (Molodtsov GP "The effect of potassium iodide top dressing on the reproductive function of boar producers." Collection of scientific papers of Primorsky Agricultural Institute. - 1970. - Issue 12. - Part 2. - S. 4-8).
A known method of increasing the reproductive productivity of sows, including a single implantation of iodine under the skin of an animal for a full reproduction cycle in an amount of 21-24 mg per animal, the implantation is carried out 18-20 days before insemination after signs of sexual hunting (Patent 2126626 RF: MKI 6 A 01 K 67/02, A 61 K 33/18; BI 6. C. 6 - prototype).
However, the use of this method on breeding boars in the stated doses and terms does not provide an increase in the reproductive ability of breeding boars due to the different physiological (age, live weight) and technological (time of drug administration) animal characteristics (for sows and boars-producers).
The specified technical result is achieved by the fact that in the method of increasing the reproductive ability of animals, including a single implantation of iodine under the skin, implantation is carried out during the transfer of boars to winter content at a dose of 12-21 mg of iodine per animal. Such an amount of iodine ensures the active activity of the thyroid gland in the body of producer boars during 210-240 days of their use. During this period, the level of iodine-bound protein in the blood serum was in the range of 463-499 nmol / l, which is normal and indicates a physiological norm that is maintained when using the declared doses of iodine for more than 240 days.
Studies have shown that with the onset of the winter period, the secretory activity of iodine-containing hormones of the thyroid gland of animals increases significantly and, as a result, the demand for iodine increases. Considering that the iodine concentration in feed by this period is reduced, the need for iodine replenishment to ensure the active activity of the thyroid gland arises precisely during the winter maintenance period, therefore, implantation of potassium iodide taking into account the prolonged action for the entire winter maintenance period is carried out at the beginning of this period.
The method is as follows. In the period of transfer of the boars-producers to winter content, they inject once percutaneously on the lateral surface of the ear with a scalpel or a special device to a depth of 4 cm and put potassium iodide tablets into the resulting pocket.
Example 1. To a group of boars-producers, when transferring them to winter keeping from 4 goals, a kayod was implanted at the rate of 12 mg of iodine per head. Upon further investigation of the blood of these animals, the level of iodine-bound protein in the serum was in the range of 463-499 nmol / l (which corresponds to the norm) for 210 days. A further decrease in the dose of iodine leads to a shortening of the normal concentration of iodine-bound protein in blood serum and does not fit into the full winter period, which negatively affects the reproductive ability of boars.
Example 2. For a group of boars-producers, when transferring them to winter content, from 4 goals a kayod was implanted at a rate of 21 mg of iodine per head. Upon further analysis of the blood of these animals, the level of iodine-bound protein in the serum was in the range of 463-499 nmol / l (which corresponds to the norm) for more than 280 days. A further increase in the dose of iodine is impractical due to the end of the duration of the winter period of their maintenance.
The introduction of iodine into the body of boars when transferring them to winter content makes it possible to exert a beneficial effect on spermatogenesis, sperm concentration, and sows fertilization.
