Abstract
Description
The invention relates to veterinary medicine, namely to drugs for treating wound surfaces of animals.
It is known to use silver salt sulfazine in the form of a 1% ointment ("Sulfagin") with a characteristic odor. The ointment is applied to the affected surface after surgical treatment and removal of necrotic tissue with a thin layer. The dressing is changed 1-2 times a day.
The duration of treatment is up to 3 weeks [1]. The disadvantage of Sulfagin is its lack of effectiveness, the frequency of changing dressings. The drug is not recommended for the treatment of deep purulent wounds and burn surfaces with abundant exudation. The drug is expensive because contains silver cations and decomposes in the light. In this regard, storage of the drug requires a place protected from light.
1:1. As the closest technical solution, selected as a prototype, is a mixture of Shatrov, which is a mixture of boric acid and permanganate K, taken in a ratio of 1: 1.
[2]. The treated wound surface is sprinkled with a mixture of Shatrov, a dressing is applied on top, which is changed at least twice a day. The duration of treatment is 2-3 weeks [2].
The disadvantage of the Shatrov mixture is its lack of effectiveness and the frequent change of dressings.
The objective of the invention is to increase the effectiveness of the drug for wound surfaces of animals through the use of a new drug.
The problem is achieved by the use of a new drug for the treatment of wound surfaces, with the following ratio of components, wt.%:
Boric acid - 33.3
Potassium Permanganate - 33.3
Streptocide - 16.7
Tetracycline - 16.7
The mixture of the above components is triturated in a ball mill to a fine powder state. The resulting preparation is a grayish powder. It is stored in plastic bags at room temperature. Shelf life 2 years.
The drug is intended for external use. At the beginning, thorough surgical treatment of the affected area (area of skin or tissue) is carried out, a wound surface is sprinkled with a thin layer of the drug, insulating material (for example, parchment) is applied and fixed with a pressure bandage. The dressing is changed once within 3 days.
The effectiveness of the new drug is shown in the following examples:
1. The heifer, 7 months old, was exposed to the treatment, in which the wound surface of the lower leg was mild. After treatment, the wound was sprinkled with a new drug and a bandage was applied. The cure came in 3 days.
2. The cow was treated at the age of 2 years, which had a wound injury of the neck of moderate severity. The wound was treated, surgical treatment of the affected area was carried out, it was sprinkled with a new drug, and a bandage was applied. After 3 days, another dressing was performed, after 6 days the dressing was removed. The wound surface was healed, there were no purulent formations.
3. A female dog was treated, 1 year old with a severe case of wound injury to the upper leg. The wound is deep with purulent necrotic lesion and profuse exudation. After surgical treatment, the wound was sprinkled with a new drug and a bandage was applied. Ligation was performed 3 times. The treatment period was 12 days, after which the bandage was removed. The wound was healed, no purulent discharge.
4. 50 cows were treated with a new agent with lesions in the distal part of the hind limb (necrobacteriosis). It was found that in mild cases, wound healing occurs on the 3rd day and one dressing is enough. When treating with well-known drugs at the same periods of treatment, 6 dressings are necessary.
In the case of moderate wound surfaces, recovery occurs after 6-9 days and 2-3 dressings are sufficient, while during treatment with a well-known drug, the treatment period is 2 weeks and 14 dressings are performed.
56-58. In severe cases, the treatment period for wound surfaces is 12-15 days with 4-5 dressings. When using known drugs, the duration of treatment is 28-29 days and the number of dressings is 56-58.
The proposed new drug has antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, astringent and deodorizing effects. Its constituent boric acid and permanganate K serve as a source of oxygen, which kills microflora, and the manganese salt has an astringent effect.
The chemotherapeutic agents that are part of the drug - tetracycline and streptocid have an antimicrobial effect. Tetracycline forms with the potassium cation difficult to dissolve complexes that last longer on the surface of the wound, disinfecting it.
On the wound surface there is an interaction of boric acid and potassium permanganate with the organic components of the drug (tetracycline and streptocide) and the resinization reaction partially proceeds. The resulting polymer protects the surface of the wound and prevents its decay. In this case, the temperature rises significantly, which has a detrimental effect on the causative agent of necrobacteriosis.
Thus, the proposed drug for the treatment of wound surfaces of animals is more effective, because allows to reduce the healing time by 2 times and the number of wound dressings by 6 times.
