Abstract

Free ends of levers are pivotally connected to sides, which are rigidly connected with back wall. Seat is combined with box cover. According to particular embodiment, sofa-bed has retractable head rest or telescopic sides composed of immovable and movable parts. Immovable parts of sides are mounted on supporting and guiding wheels for displacement of movable parts of sides thereon, with sides being rigidly connected with box. Description

 The invention relates to the furniture industry, in particular to sofas, transforming into a position of "bed" and vice versa.

 Known furniture for seating, transformable into a bed, which is a three-section design, where the sections are interconnected by flexible, for example, looped joints. The furniture is transformed into sections “sofa” and “bed” along the connection lines of the sections, with the seat section equipped with coaxial rollers, which it rests on the movable base, and the other two sections are additionally pulled together by a spring, which carries out the process of transformation into the “sofa” position and triggers when the seat is turned upward relative to the movable base (see RF patent 2132149, IPC 6 A 47 C 17/13, 1998).

 The furniture can be easily transformed, but the disadvantage is that the backrest is used for the “sofa” and “bed” position and cannot be made with a convenient anatomical profile for the “sofa” position.

 A sofa bed is known, comprising a trolley placed in the housing with a seat fixed on it, a two-way back for the “sofa” position with the back for the “bed” position, mounted to rotate around the horizontal axis when transformed to the “bed” position and a transformation mechanism, comprising two spring-loaded levers pivotally interconnected from one end, one of which is pivotally mounted with a free end on the housing, the second with a free end mounted on a trolley, and an elongated end of the second growling hectare is made with a curved slot for interaction with a finger fixed in the middle of the back (see AS 1433467, MKI 4 A 47 C 17/13, 1986).

 The sofa is transformed into the "bed" position as follows. It rises by grabbing the seat to the level of the hands of a standing person and extends from under the back until it stops. Then the trolley begins to move to the right, stretching the spring-loaded levers, and the back due to the interaction of its finger and the slot in the second lever rotates around the axis clockwise. The first spring-loaded lever holds the back, which gradually lowers its back to the seat level. In this case, the gap between the seat and the back is eliminated by lifting the seat, disengaging it and shifting it to the left until the back and seat are closed.

 The advantage of the known design is the presence of a two-sided back, which allows the back for the “sofa” position to perform an anatomical profile, however, the transformation is quite complicated both in design, with numerous slots, fingers, stops, gears and springs, and in the applied forces.

 Closest to the claimed technical essence is a sofa bed containing a frame in the form of a hollow box with sidewalls rigidly fixed to it and movably fixed to it with two pairs of levers, the back and seat, connected rotary relative to the horizontal axis with moving forward and backward during transformation . In the hollow box in the "sofa" position, a removable cushion is stored, mounted on a sliding element that extends the surface for sitting and lying down. Guides for a retractable element made in the form of rigid shields with a limiter are attached under the seat (see RF patent 2146488, IPC 7 A 47 C 17/13, 1999).

 The known design has a fairly simple transformation, but with poor sliding of the sliding element. The disadvantage is the transformation of the backrest counterclockwise (back), which excludes the construction of the back of the anatomical profile, convenient in the "sofa" position. In addition, a hollow box occupied with a pillow in the “sofa” position cannot be used for storing bedding.

 A sofa bed is proposed, comprising a frame with rigidly fixed sidewalls, a hollow box, a movable seat with the ability to move forward, a backrest and a transformation mechanism including two pairs of levers pivotally connected to the backrest, in which according to the invention the backrest is double-sided, the seat is a lid of a hollow box mounted on the support wheels, the transformation mechanism additionally includes two rods pivotally connecting the back to the box, and the free ends of the levers of the transformation mechanism are pivotally connected to Covina rigidly associated rear wall.

 According to the invention, the double-sided back is made of an anatomical profile on one side for the “sofa” position, with a flat sunbed on the other hand for the “bed” position.

 According to the invention, in the hollow box in the “sofa” position, a head restraint is mounted on two Z-shaped brackets with the possibility of installing it in the “bed” position.

 Also according to the invention, the sidewalls are made telescopic, consisting of a fixed and a moving part, the fixed part of the sidewalls is mounted on the supporting-guide wheels with the possibility of moving along them the moving parts of the sidewalls, rigidly connected with the box.

 The sofa bed of FIG. 1-3 contains a frame 1, rigidly connected with two sidewalls 2, a hollow movable box 3 mounted on four support wheels 4, the cover 5 of which, connected on hinges to the front wall of the box 3, is simultaneously the seat 5 (cover-seat 5) of the sofa - beds, the back of which is made bilateral, one side of which anatomical profile is actually the back 6 in the "sofa" position, the other flat side is the sunbed 7 in the "bed" position, and a transformation mechanism including two pairs of levers 8,9, pivotally connecting the sunbed 7 with sidewalls 2, and two t 10, pivotally connecting the movable box 3 to the back 6. The rear wall 11, rigidly connected to the sidewalls 2 in their upper part, increases the structural rigidity and at the same time serves as a side support for the backrest in the “sofa” position and for the sleeping person in the “bed” position, a supporting bar 12 is attached to the back wall of the box 3. The two-sided backrest can be made on one rigid base or can be made on different bases for the backrest 6 and deck chair 7, then rigidly fastened together.

 For greater convenience of transformation, the lounger 7 on both sides can be equipped with L-shaped grips-grips 13.

 To create a comfortable headboard across the entire width in the "bed" position, an embodiment of a sofa bed with a folding headrest 14 mounted on two Z-shaped brackets 15 in a hollow box 3 in the "sofa" position with the possibility of installing it in the "bed" position is proposed.

 Also, for the headboard device over the entire width in the “bed” position, an embodiment of the sofa bed of FIGS. 5-7 is proposed, in which the sidewalls 2 are made telescopic, consisting of a fixed 16 and a movable 17 parts. The fixed part 16 of the sidewalls 2 in front is equipped with two supporting guide wheels 18, which are installed in the grooves of the moving parts 17, rigidly connected with the hollow box 3.

 The sofa bed is transformed as follows. To transfer it from the "sofa" to the "bed" position, you need to pull the upper part of the sunbed 7 with your hand. As the sunbed 7 (you can hold the handles 13) is turned, the thrust 11, constantly acting on the drawer 3, make it move forward until , while the lounger 7 does not fall back 6 on the support plate 12, on the other hand, hanging on the hinges of the levers 8.9. This is where the transformation process ends. Raising the cover-seat 5 provides free access to the drawer 3. The transformation from the position of "bed" to the position of "sofa" is carried out in the reverse order. In the embodiment of FIG. 4, after folding into the “bed” position, the seat 5 is lifted and the head restraint 14 reclines to the working position. In the embodiment of FIGS. 5-7, the process of folding and folding the sofa bed fully coincides with the above described in FIGS. 1-3.

The advantages of the proposed sofa bed compared with the prototype is:
- to increase operating comfort through the use of a double-sided backrest - with a flat sunbed on one side for the “bed” position and the anatomical profile back itself on the other hand for the “sofa” position (which also gives great advantages for expanding the design to the manufacturer), and due to the availability of a bulk laundry box with easy access to it;
- to facilitate the process of transformation of the sofa bed due to the support wheels on which the part of the sofa rolls - either a drawer with a seat, or a drawer with a seat together with the movable part of the sidewalls;
- in reducing the time and effort of transformation due to the kinematic connection of the back and drawer, and the choice of the geometry of the levers and the points of installation of their hinges (know-how), allow the manufacturer to easily change the width of the lounger both in the direction of increasing and decreasing.
