Description
The invention relates to hydrometallurgy of rare metals, and specifically to methods for processing bismuth-containing materials to produce bismuth compounds.
А. СССР N 31013, Кл. 120, II. 31.07.33 г.). A known method of producing bismuth citric acid by dissolving bismuth oxide in a mixture of lactic and acetic acids, adding to the resulting solution of citric acid, followed by separation, washing and drying the obtained precipitate of bismuth citric acid (G. A. Kirchhoff. Author's certificate. USSR N 31013, Cl. 120 , II. Declared on November 15, 32 g, published on July 31, 33).
The disadvantage of this method is the complexity of the process associated with the use of a mixture of solutions of lactic and acetic acids, as well as the need for preliminary synthesis of bismuth oxide.
М.-Л.: 1934.- С. 90).A known method of producing bismuth citrate by dissolving basic bismuth nitrate in nitric acid, and citric acid in water, followed by neutralizing it with ammonia, adding a solution of bismuth nitrate to the resulting ammonium citrate solution, heating the precipitate with the solution in a steam bath, filtering, washing the precipitate with distilled water and drying at a temperature of no higher than 40 o C (J. Schwitzer. Production of chemical-pharmaceutical and technological preparations. M.-L.: 1934.- S. 90).
40oC.The disadvantage of this method is the complexity of the process associated with obtaining basic bismuth nitrate, its dissolution in nitric acid and the need for preliminary preparation of a solution of ammonium citrate, as well as contamination of the product with the ammonium form of bismuth citrate and the duration of the drying process of the product at a temperature of not higher than 40 o C.
243-247). A known method of producing bismuth citrate from metallic bismuth by preliminary precipitation of bismuth nitrate from a nitric acid solution, its conversion into hydroxide by treatment with ammonia solution, followed by boiling of bismuth hydroxide with citric acid solution and diluting the solution (1: 1) with water, separating the precipitate of bismuth citric acid by filtration, washing it with water and drying at room temperature (N.M. Turkevich. Soluble bismuth compounds. 1. Bismuth citrate, its aqua compounds and ammonia // Ukrainian Chemical Journal cash - 1949.- T.15, issue 2.- S.243-247).
The disadvantage of this method is the complexity of the process associated with the preliminary synthesis of bismuth nitrate, its conversion to hydroxide, the need for boiling the precipitate with a solution of citric acid, a low (not more than 90%) degree of extraction of bismuth into the final product, and the duration of the drying process of the product at room temperature.
The aim of the invention is to simplify the process and increase the degree of extraction of bismuth in the final product.
60-200oC.This goal is achieved by the fact that in the known method for producing bismuth citric acid, comprising treating the material with nitric acid, precipitating bismuth from a solution, washing the precipitate with water and drying it, according to the invention, bismuth citrate is precipitated directly from the solution at a pH of 0-0.75 and a temperature of 50 -90 o C by adding a solution of citric acid with a molar ratio of citrate ions to bismuth equal to 1.0-1.5: 1, and drying is carried out at a temperature of 60-200 o C.
60-200oC.New is the precipitation of bismuth citric acid from solution at a pH of 0-0.75 and a temperature of 50-90 o C by adding an aqueous solution of citric acid with a molar ratio of citrate ions to bismuth equal to 1.0-1.5: 1, and drying the product at a temperature of 60-200 o C.
The process of precipitation of bismuth citrate at a pH of 0-0.75 and a temperature of 50-90 o C by adding an aqueous solution of citric acid with a molar ratio of citrate ions to bismuth equal to 1.0-1.5, allows to simplify the process and precipitate the product directly from a solution with a high degree of extraction of bismuth into the final product.
As can be seen from the table, the deposition of bismuth should be carried out at a pH of 0-0.75 and a process temperature of 50-90 o C by adding an aqueous solution of citric acid with a molar ratio of citrate ions to bismuth equal to 1.0-1.5: 1. The ratio of citrate ions to bismuth in the solution should be 1.0-1.5: 1. At a given ratio of less than 1.0, the degree of extraction of bismuth into the final product is low, and at the same time, along with bismuth citric acid, the precipitate contains basic nitric acid as an impurity, the proportion of which increases with increasing pH. An increase in the ratio of citrate ions to bismuth in solution of more than 1.5, increasing the extraction of bismuth by only 0.3%, leads to a significant consumption of citric acid. At pH less than 0, the degree of extraction of bismuth into the final product does not exceed 94%, and at the same time there is a large consumption of nitric acid at the stage of obtaining the bismuth-containing solution. At a pH of more than 0.75, the composition of the product changes, there is the formation of the ammonium form of bismuth citrate, which begins to dissolve with increasing pH, due to the formation of anionic citrate-containing bismuth complexes in the solution, and the degree of extraction of bismuth into the final product decreases. At a process temperature of less than 50 o C, the degree of extraction of bismuth into the final product does not exceed 80% and at the same time, along with bismuth citrate, the precipitate contains as an impurity the ammonium form of bismuth citrate, the proportion of which increases with increasing pH. At a process temperature of more than 90 o C there is a partial destruction of citric acid, which leads to its increased consumption.
Drying of the product should be carried out at a temperature of 60-200 o C. At a temperature below 60 o C the drying process is long, which reduces the productivity of the process. At temperatures above 200 o C in the product irreversible changes occur and its composition is violated.
99,8%. Obtaining bismuth citrate according to the proposed method can significantly simplify the process by eliminating the stages of producing bismuth nitrate, converting it to hydroxide when boiling with a solution of citric acid and increasing the degree of extraction of bismuth in the final product from 90 to 99.8%.
