Abstract
Description
The invention relates to methods for curing photopolymerizable compositions and can be used to obtain copies of embossed precision optical surfaces such as micro-rasters, embossed phase holograms, Fresnel lenses, code disks made on photosensitive materials, as well as for various decorative materials with color and light effects.
A known US patent [1] (US Patent N 4469575, IPC C 08 F 2/46, 1984), which describes the composition of ultraviolet (UV) curing and a method for producing polymer layers. A mixture of benzyl and / or fluorenone with biphenylketone and a tertiary amine is used as a photoinitiating composition. The polymer layers are reinforced with fiberglass or fiberglass at the rate of one layer of fiberglass per 1 mm of layer thickness. Thus, the specified photoinitiating composition does not allow to obtain homogeneous polymer layers of large thickness. Reinforced glass is opaque and has a distorted surface that repeats the structure of the reinforcing element. This does not allow the use of such glasses as elements of reflective or translucent optics.
п. A British patent is also known [2] (British Patent N 2034333 A, IPC C 08
Closest to the proposed method is a method of making copies by photopolymerization [3] (Barachevsky V. A. New recording media for holography. L .: Nauka, 1983, p. 173-182), including filling the polymerizable composition into a cavity of the form having at least one side is transparent to visible radiation, irradiating the shape with a visible light source and separating the copy from the original. As the polymerizable composition, a photopolymerizable composition is used, including a monomer or a mixture of monomers, for example, oligoether acrylates with the addition of polymerization photoinitiators: diacetyl or phenanthrenquinone together with a reducing agent, triethanolamine.
The disadvantage of this method is that it does not allow to obtain polymer layers of great thickness uniform in properties. The polymerization rate depends on the light intensity and the concentration of the photoinitiator. Used FPKs are sensitive to visible light in the range: from 400 to 480 (when using diacetyl as a photoinitiator) or 520 nm (when using phenanthrenquinone). The position of the bands of photoinitiators and the magnitude of their molar extinction are such that upon irradiation of the composition with visible light, the intensity of the initiating radiation sharply decreases along the thickness of the cured layer of the composition. Therefore, the polymerization process takes place in a thin layer of a photopolymerizable composition located along the front of the incident radiation. The consequence of this is a limitation of the thickness of a uniformly photocurable layer of 250 μm.
The purpose of the invention is to obtain homogeneous properties of polymer layers of large thickness.
где R1=H, alkyl C1-C4, Ph;
R2=H, Me, MeO, Ph, F, Cl, Br, NO2;
R3=H, alkyl C3-C4, MeO, Ph, F, Cl, Br;
R4=H, alkyl C1-C4, Cl, Br, NO2;
ч.To achieve this goal in a method involving pouring a polymerizable composition into a cavity of a mold having at least one side transparent in the visible range, irradiating the mold with a visible light source and separating the copy from the original, the mold is irradiated with a visible light source with illumination from 2 to 100 klx at a wavelength of 500 to 650 nm for from 0.5 to 100 minutes, after which thermopolymerization is carried out by any heat source, for example, using an incandescent lamp, in a heating cabinet or in a bath with a coolant at a temperature round from 50 to 100 o C for 10 to 60 minutes. In this case, a photopolymerizable composition containing a polymerization-capable component, for example, a monomer or a mixture of monomers, orthoquinones, for example, orthobenzoquinone or a mixture of orthobenzoquinones of the formula:
where R 1 = H, alkyl C 1 -C 4 , Ph;
R 2 = H, Me, MeO, Ph, F, Cl, Br, NO 2 ;
R 3 = H, alkyl C 3 -C 4 , MeO, Ph, F, Cl, Br;
R 4 = H, alkyl C 1 -C 4 , Cl, Br, NO 2 ;
or oxantrenquinone of the formula:
or a tetrahydronaphthoquinone derivative of the formula:
and a reducing agent capable of reducing photo-excited orthoquinones, for example amines, includes the following ratio of ingredients: a polymerization component in an amount of 100 parts by weight, orthoquinones from 0.005 to 0.1 parts by weight, a reducing agent, for example an amine, from 0, 5 to 10.0 parts by weight In addition, the composition may contain a radical polymerization thermal initiator inert to the reducing agent in an amount of from 0.2 to 10.0 parts by weight. The amount of thermal initiator depends on the purity of the monomers and the presence of inhibitory impurities in them. When using very pure monomers, the thermal initiator is not added to the composition. FPK may also contain polymer additives that increase the viscosity of the composition and change the physicomechanical characteristics of photopolymer glasses, for example polymethylmethacrylate, dacryl, polyvinyl chloride, in an amount of from 1.0 to 50 parts by weight.
- отсутствуют внутренние напряжения в полимере, что снижает вероятность его разрушения на стадии изготовления и повышает эксплуатационные характеристики конечного изделия;
- полимер оптически однороден, т.е. отсутствует искажение светового потока, проходящего сквозь полимер, что является важной характеристикой элементов " просветной " оптики;
- отсутствуют общие и локальные искажения поверхности полимера, что определяет качество оптических элементов, работающих на "отражение";
- коэффициент линейного расширения полимера постоянен по всему его объему, что обеспечивает воспроизведение полимером заданной геометрии и сохранение ее при различных температурных режимах эксплуатации конечного изделия;
It was experimentally established that the decomposition of the photopolymerization process of compositions containing polymerization-capable radical curing components, orthoquinone derivatives, photoreducing agents, for example tertiary amines, and, if necessary, thermopolymerization initiators, polymeric additives and solvents, into two stages: photopolymerization by visible light and thermal transfer at the photopolymerization stage, the spectral composition of actinic radiation is determined by the thickness of the cured layer, allows oluchat homogeneous over the whole volume copy polymer to 100 mm thick. The homogeneity of the resulting polymer glass is expressed in the following:
- there are no internal stresses in the polymer, which reduces the likelihood of its destruction at the manufacturing stage and increases the operational characteristics of the final product;
- the polymer is optically homogeneous, i.e. there is no distortion of the light flux passing through the polymer, which is an important characteristic of the elements of "translucent"optics;
- there are no general and local distortions of the polymer surface, which determines the quality of the optical elements operating on the "reflection";
- the coefficient of linear expansion of the polymer is constant throughout its volume, which ensures that the polymer reproduces a given geometry and preserves it under various temperature conditions of operation of the final product;
- shrinkage during the polymerization proceeds uniformly and, as a result, the likelihood of mold destruction decreases.
- получать копии с матриц с глубиной рельефа 5 мм и более;
- получать моноблочные крупногабаритные оптические элементы, жесткость которых при необходимости может быть усилена без искривления рабочей поверхности элемента, например криволинейные зеркала или растровые экраны;
The possibility of curing polymer layers of more than 10 mm allows you to:
- receive copies from matrices with a relief depth of 5 mm or more;
- to receive monoblock large-sized optical elements, the rigidity of which, if necessary, can be enhanced without curving the working surface of the element, for example curved mirrors or raster screens;
- receive polymer blocks containing inside the inclusion volume from other materials.
Dividing the process into photo- and thermopolymerization makes it possible to control the gel effect at the photopolymerization stage by setting a certain light flux intensity and performing primary curing under the mildest conditions and at maximum speed. In general, this leads to a decrease in the production speed of thick polymer copies obtained by polymerization in the mold, compared with existing technologies. In the inventive method, the concentrations of orthoquinones are selected in such a way that the photopolymerization process proceeds almost simultaneously over the entire volume of the composition. This allows to obtain homogeneous polymers according to the claimed method of block photopolymerization. The experimentally established concentrations of orthoquinones necessary for uniform photopolymerization are in the range from 0.005 to 0.1 parts by weight. per 100 parts by weight polymerization compounds. The latter, as a rule, contain inhibitory additives, the action of which reduces the depth of polymerization at the stage of photopolymerization and prevents the achievement of the maximum depth of polymerization at the stage of thermopolymerization. In this case, to ensure maximum efficiency of thermopolymerization, the composition may contain initiators of thermopolymerization. Their use significantly expands the range of polymerization compounds and allows the use of industrial raw materials without special purification. The improvement of the physicomechanical characteristics of the polymer is achieved, in particular, by introducing polymer additives into the composition. This increases the toughness, increases the elasticity and reduces the fragility of the final polymer. To reduce the viscosity of the composition, accelerate the process of pouring the composition into the mold and settling air bubbles, if necessary, the composition may contain additives of organic solvents.
The method of block photopolymerization is as follows. FPK is poured into a cavity of a form having at least one side transparent in the visible range. Depending on the viscosity of the composition, to facilitate pouring it into the mold, the composition can be heated to a temperature of less than or equal to 60 ° C. The viscosity of the composition can also be reduced by adding organic solvents not more than 20 parts by weight, preferably not more than 10 parts by weight. h. After pouring, the process of block photopolymerization is carried out, which includes two stages: curing and thermopolymerization.
At the curing stage, the form is irradiated with light from any source of visible radiation with illumination from 2 to 100 klx at a wavelength of 500 nm to 650 nm. The exposure is determined by the nature and concentration of the constituent components of the composition and varies from 0.5 to 100 minutes. After that, thermopolymerization is carried out. The process can be carried out both using incandescent lamps and in standard conditions (a heating cabinet or a bathtub with a coolant, etc.). Both stages are carried out at atmospheric pressure.
The temperature developing inside the photopolymer and the depolymerization time depending on the component composition of the FPK varies from 50 to 100 o C and from 10 to 60 minutes, respectively. After the end of the process, the finished sample is removed from the mold.

Examples of the preparation of FPK and the implementation of the method of block photopolymerization.
FPK is prepared by dissolving 0.02 weight. including 3,6-di-tert-butyl-benzoquinone-1.2 in 100 parts by weight purified from the inhibitor of α, ω-methacryl- (bisethylene glycol) -phthalate, followed by the addition and thorough mixing of 1 part by weight dimethylethanolamine. The finished composition after settling air bubbles is poured into the mold cavity formed by two glass plates with a damping gasket between them. The thickness of the FPK layer (h) is determined by the thickness of the damping pad - 13 mm. Exposure is carried out by a 1 kW halogen-filled W-bulb using a filter that emits light with a wavelength of 500 nm to 650 nm from a distance of 50 cm when illuminated on the surface of a mold of 30 klx. After bleaching the cured polymer in the form, the form is placed in a heating cabinet and heated at a temperature of 100 o C for 20 minutes. The cooled form is disassembled and the finished sample is removed. The microhardness of the forward (H1) and reverse (H2) sides of the photopolymer coincide and amounts to 20 kgf / mm. Thickness of photopolymer glass is 12 mm. The data presented show that the use of the proposed FPK allows the process of block photopolymerization, which proceeds in two stages, namely, photo-curing and thermopolymerization, and to obtain samples of
Example 2
FPK is prepared by dissolving 4-fluoro-3,6-di-tert-butylbenzoquinone-1,2 or 3-isopropyl-3,6-di-tert-butylbenzoquinone-1,2 or 4-chloro-3,6-di-tert-butylbenzoquinone-1 , 2 to 100 weight. including purified from an inhibitor of α, ω-methacryl- (bisethylene glycol) -phthalate, followed by the addition and thorough mixing of 1.0 parts by weight triethylamine. The finished composition is poured into the mold cavity with a gap between the glasses of 6 mm and exposed, as described in example 1, for 10 minutes. After which the form with the polymer is heated in a heating cabinet at a temperature of 90 o C for 20 minutes, after cooling, the form is disassembled and the finished sample is removed. The results obtained are shown in table 1. From these results it follows that the use of the above orthobenzoquinones in a concentration range from 0.005 to 0.1 parts by weight per 100 weight. including oligoester acrylate allows block photopolymerization to obtain homogeneous properties of samples of photopolymer glass.

Thus, it can be seen from the above results that the use of a thermopolymerization initiator inert to a reducing agent, for example, 2,2-azo-iso-butyronitrile (2,2-azo-diisobutyric acid) allows the glass to be obtained by block photopolymerization to obtain glass that is uniform in properties from polymerization components not subjected to special cleaning from inhibitors.
Example 4

For example 5
FPK is prepared by dissolving 0.005 parts by weight. 4,5-di-fluoro-3,6-di-tert-butylbenzoquinone-1.2 and 0.5 parts by
Thus, the proposed composition can be used to obtain the method of block photopolymerization of samples of large thickness. The thickness of the photopolymer layer of 15 mm is not maximum (boundary). As can be seen from the example, when the mold is irradiated from two sides, photopolymer glasses up to 80 mm thick can be obtained.
Homogeneous photopolymer glasses of large thickness are necessary for the manufacture of collection specimens (insects, plants), the production of copies from works of art, optics, etc.
