Abstract
Description
The invention relates to compositions of lubricants and the use of substances in lubricating compositions and is intended to improve the antifriction and anti-wear properties of motor oils for internal combustion engines.
Known additive for lubricating oils (ed. St. N 912749, class C 01 M 129/40, B.I. N 10, 1980) (analog) containing glycerin, oleic acid and iron stearate in the following ratios of components, wt. %:
Iron stearate - 7.5 - 10.0
Oleic acid - 7.5 - 10.0
Glycerin - Up to 100
The main disadvantage of the analogue is the destruction of glycerol at high temperatures with the release of atomic hydrogen, which enhances wear (hydrogen embrittlement). The disadvantages of the composition include the fact that the manifestation of its antifriction properties is realized in pairs of steel-alloy based on copper, which are not predominant in the internal combustion engine.
Known running oil (ed. St. N 859425, class C 01 M 129/40, B.I. N 32, 1981) (analogue) containing as an additive monovalent copper oleate and oleic acid in the following ratios, wt.% :
Monovalent Copper Oleate - 25-60
Oleic acid - Up to 100
The disadvantage of the analogue is that the copper released during the friction process is a catalyst for oxidative processes in oil, which leads to an increase in its corrosive activity and a deterioration in thermal oxidative ability.
A prototype of the invention is a metal cladding additive (ed. St. N 1201297 class C 01 M 141/01, B.I. N 48, 1985) containing copper glycerin and oleic acid. The mass ratio in the lubricating composition is as follows, wt.%:
Copper glycerin - 0.06 - 0.3
Oleic acid - 0.04 - 2.0
Mineral Oil - Else
The disadvantage of the prototype is a significant increase in the oxidative processes in the oil when it is heated due to the presence of copper in the glycerol derivative.
The disadvantage of all analogues and prototype are insufficiently high antifriction and antiwear properties.
The aim of the invention is to increase the antifriction and antiwear properties of the additive, reducing its corrosion activity.
This is achieved by the fact that in order to activate the formation of a servo-like film on rubbing surfaces, an oleic acid-containing additive is introduced instead of copper glycerin, flux 209, finely dispersed copper and zinc powder and a composition containing ammonium hexachlorostannate (IV), ammonium molybdenum acid, and oleic acid are introduced.
The ratio of components in the specified composition is the following, wt.%:
Oleic acid - 15
Flux - 209 - 10
Fine copper-zinc powder, consisting of fine powders of copper and zinc - 50% each - 25
Composition - 50
The composition of the flux 209, wt.%:
Boric anhydride - 35
Potassium Dehydrated Dehydrated - 42
Potassium Fluoroborate - 23
Flux 209 is used for brazing structural and stainless steels, as well as heat-resistant and copper alloys, with silver solders (see the Metalworker's Manual, volume 3, book 1, - M.: Mashgiz, 1960, 468 p.).
Composition, wt.%:
Ammonium hexachlorostannate tin IV - 30
Ammonium Molybdenum Acid - 30
Oleic acid - 40
The dispersion of ultrafine Cu - Zn powders is 80 - 100 , which eliminates the possibility of removing them with oil filters of the internal combustion engine lubrication system.
Comparative analysis with the prototype allows us to conclude that this additive meets the criterion of "novelty", as it differs from the known metal-cladding additive in the content of new components (flux 209, finely dispersed copper-zinc powder and the specified composition). The simultaneous use of these components leads to the formation of a servo-like film on friction surfaces and, as a consequence, to an increase in the antiwear properties of the additive. Finely dispersed copper-zinc powder is a material for the formation of a servo-like film, and flux 209 and composition significantly activate this process.
Thus, the proposed composition of the components gives the additive to the oils new properties that allow us to conclude that the claimed solution meets the criterion of "significant differences".
The resulting composition, when added to engine oil, dissolves well and does not precipitate over time. When heating the oil with the additive, there is no specific smell and toxic fumes.
120oC.Comparative data on antiwear properties of the proposed technical solution and prototype
The tests were carried out on a SMC-2 friction machine according to the "block-roller" scheme at a constant load of P = 1626N and a machine shaft speed of n = 500 min -1 . During testing, the running-in time was determined by the stabilization time of the friction moment and oil temperature. The test duration corresponded to 600 thousand revolutions of the shaft of the friction machine (approximately 120 min). Anti-seize properties were determined by the time of resistance to setting at a load of 3252 N. During the time of setting resistance was taken the time of heating the oil to 120 o C.
201. The roughness of the running-in surfaces of the samples was determined using a mode profilograph-profilometer. 201.
The wear of parts was determined on an analytical balance VLA-200M with an accuracy of 1 • 10 -4 g. Samples for simulating the neck of the crankshaft and cylinder liner were made in the form of rollers with a diameter of 50 mm, respectively, from steel 45 select (GOST 1050-74) and special cast iron with finishing their roughness to the required parameter. The pads were cut from the corresponding parts of the SMD-62 diesel engine; connecting rod bearing shell and second compression ring.
1. The composition of the claimed technical solution is prepared by adding flux 209 in the specified proportion to oleic acid. Then finely dispersed copper-zinc powder and the specified composition were added to the prepared mixture. The compositions of the tested lubricant compositions are given in table. 1.
2. The results of the tests are given in table. 2.
From the above data it is seen that the proposed composition of the lubricating composition allows to reduce wear by 2.6 ... 2.7 times, to increase the setting time by 1.3 times for friction pairs of the sleeve-ring and the liner shaft.
