Abstract
Description
The invention relates to heat engineering, in particular to heat pipes, and can be used to remove heat from various heat-stressed objects.
Known contour heat pipe [1] in which an evaporation chamber is used, comprising a housing with a capillary-porous nozzle provided with a central channel and a system of vapor drainage grooves made on the surface of the nozzle adjacent to the heated wall of the chamber.
The disadvantage of such an evaporation chamber is the inability to increase the surface of its thermal contact with the heat source, since only one of its surfaces or faces can serve as a contact surface here.
Another disadvantage of the evaporation chamber is the lack of heat transfer efficiency in the evaporation zone, since the system of vapor drainage grooves is entirely made in a capillary-porous nozzle with a relatively low thermal conductivity.
The closest set of essential features to the invention is an evaporation chamber [2] which contains a housing including side and end walls and a capillary-porous nozzle with a central channel placed inside and adjacent to a heated wall of the chamber and forming a gap from one of its end walls. Grooves are made on the contact surface of the nozzle, forming, together with a screw thread on the contact surface of the body, a system of vapor drainage grooves in communication with the steam manifold. Such an organization of the evaporation zone, as experience shows, is much more effective, since it allows you to make the surface of the thermal contact more developed, as well as reduce its thermal resistance.
However, all the disadvantages of this design of the evaporation chamber, associated with the limited surface of the thermal contact with the heat source, are also fully preserved here.
In addition, it should be noted that a significant drawback of all designs of evaporation chambers in which heat is supplied to the outer wall is the need to have a relatively thick layer of capillary-porous nozzle separating its vaporizing surface from the absorbent one. This circumstance is due to the fact that a certain temperature drop and a corresponding pressure drop between the evaporating and absorbing surfaces of the nozzle are needed to start the heat pipe. This condition, in turn, entails a significant increase in the hydraulic resistance of the nozzle, since capillary-porous materials with a very small effective pore radius of 1 μm or less are usually used for its manufacture. The physical nature of this situation in the evaporation chambers of the type under consideration is due to the fact that part of the heat supplied to the evaporation chamber penetrates through the nozzle into the central channel, through the surface of which the evaporation zone is fed. Since this heat flux is directed mainly along the radius toward the center, its density on the absorbent surface is inversely proportional to the value of the radius of the channel. This favors an increase in the temperature of the steam in the latter, making it difficult to create a temperature difference necessary for starting up. The basis of the invention is the creation of an evaporation chamber of a contour heat pipe, the design of which allows for efficient removal of heat from sources that require uniform cooling of all or most of their heat release surface under operating conditions. Among these sources, in particular, are compact chemical reactors and combustion chambers of powerful gas cutters used for cutting metal structures.
The problem is solved in that the evaporation chamber contains a housing having side and end walls, inside which a capillary-porous nozzle is placed adjacent to the heated surface of the chamber and forming a gap with at least one of the end walls. The nozzle is equipped with a central channel and longitudinal grooves on the thermal contact surface. The evaporation chamber is also provided with an additional inner wall adjacent to the surface of the central channel of the nozzle, which forms an annular gap with the outer side wall of the chamber on a part of its length bounded by at least one end of the nozzle protrusion and communicating with the condensate line. The system of steam drainage grooves includes both longitudinal grooves made on the heat-contact surface of the nozzle with the inner wall of the chamber, and threaded grooves on the heat-contact surface of the latter. The inner wall of the chamber and / or one of the end walls can act as a thermal contact surface. The inner and side walls of the chamber can form a cylindrical shape, the shape of a truncated cone or cylinder turning into a cone, as well as any other technologically accessible form corresponding to the shape of the heat source and heat removal conditions.
This design of the evaporation chamber allows, firstly, to provide a maximum surface of thermal contact with sources of heat load, in which the surface of heat release is their outer surface. The contact surface of the evaporation chamber covers most of the source of thermal load, thereby ensuring a higher uniformity of its cooling. Secondly, the design of the evaporation chamber makes it possible to organize efficient heat transfer on its thermal contact surface, since it is equipped with a developed system of grooves for the removal of steam into the steam line. Finally, thirdly, the shape and design of the evaporation chamber can quite easily be adapted to the shape of the source of heat load, which can be either solid or liquid or gaseous.
Figure 1 shows a variant of a cylindrical evaporation chamber, the capillary-porous nozzle of which has a dead end central channel, and heat can be supplied both to the side and end surfaces of the inner wall of the chamber; figure 2 is a cross section of the evaporation chamber; figure 3 is another variant of a cylindrical evaporation chamber, the nozzle of which has a through central channel, and heat can be supplied only to the side surface of the inner wall of the chamber; figure 4 is another variant of the evaporation chamber having the shape of a truncated cone; figure 5 is another variant of the evaporation chamber, having the shape of a cylinder turning into a truncated cone.
14. The evaporation chamber according to the proposed technical solution contains a housing including a
The evaporation chamber operates as follows.
In the initial state, when there is no heat load, the
When the heat load is applied to the outer surface of the
6. In the evaporation chamber, an embodiment of which is shown in FIG. 3, only the
The shape of the evaporation chamber shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 is adapted to the shape of the combustion chamber of a gas burner, the walls of which need effective thermal protection from high-temperature gases.
