Abstract
Description
The invention relates to medicine, in particular to the prevention of infection in children.
Intestinal infections do not have specific preventive measures. Known methods for their treatment using biological bacterial preparations. In recent years, the attention of many researchers has been attracted by the development of therapeutic drugs based on live acidophilus bacteria of representatives of the normal flora of the human body.
Their use helps to restore micro-, including bifidoflora, in the human intestine, as well as normalize metabolism. The impact on specific and non-specific factors of the body’s defense is enhanced by the introduction of kefir fungi into biological bacterial preparations, the polysaccharide of which, according to Japanese researchers, turned out to be a unique immunostimulant that acts directly through the T-unit of the immune system.
However, in the literature available to us there was no information about the prophylactic use of such drugs.
As a prototype of the proposed method, a method for the prevention of infections using bacteriophages is adopted. Scientific and practical experience has been accumulated that testifies to the effectiveness of the use of bacteriophages for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in acute intestinal infections of various etiologies (dysentery, salmonellosis, escherichiosis, and others, including those caused by conditionally pathogenic flora of the disease). However, having a significant advantage over other antibacterial drugs, bacteriophages have a pronounced narrow specificity of action on a specific causative agent of intestinal infection, without significantly affecting the state of normal microflora and macroorganism resistance.
The aim of the invention is to reduce the incidence of intestinal infections while increasing anti-infectious resistance and healing the body.
The goal is achieved by the introduction of the multicomponent biological bacterial preparation “Acipol” (TU 10.02.02.789-109-93) containing acidophilic lactobacilli with high biochemical, acid-forming and antagonistic activity, as well as heated kefir fungi (kefir polysaccharide that determines the effect of the drug) 5 doses once a day for 10 days.
The significance of the differences of the proposed method lies in the fact that the drug has not a narrowly specific, but wide antagonistic activity against both pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic pathogens of intestinal infections with the simultaneous improvement of the macroorganism, increase of its protective forces and normalization of microflora.
A specific example of the application of the method.
In August-September 1993, 20 children aged 5-6 years old received acipole in a children's complex No. 47 of Shatury, Moscow Region for preventive purposes, more than half of which (conditionally 55%) had some aggravating factors (previous intestinal infections, repeated ARVI in the anamnesis, manifestations of exudative diathesis of varying severity, etc.). A number of children noted a combination of 2 3 aggravating factors.
Acipol was prescribed before meals once a day in 1 bottle (5 doses) for 10 days. Before use, the drug was diluted with boiled water at room temperature.
During the period of taking acipol and in the next 4 months of observation until the end of 1993, there were no cases of intestinal infections among children. In general, the incidence rate for the plant in 1993 was 0.98 compared to 1.95 in 1992.
Violations of the qualitative and quantitative composition of the intestinal microflora (a change in the number of Escherichia coli in the direction of its increase or decrease, the presence of Escherichia coli with hemolysing properties and decreased enzymatic activity, a decrease in the content of bifido and lactobacilli, the presence of associations of conditionally pathogenic microorganisms) of varying severity to obtain acipole revealed in 68% of children.
A second study after taking the drug indicated a restoration of the intestinal microflora or a tendency to normalize it.
The immunocorrective effect of acipol was reflected in higher levels of lysozyme in the blood of children (8.39 0.59 versus 4.09 0.29, p less than 0.05) after its use.
When developing this method, we determined the minimum and maximum parameters of the regimen of the drug. It was established that when prescribing acipol in an amount of less than 5 doses and a course of less than 10 days, there is no decrease in incidence compared with the control group.
The appointment of acipol in an amount exceeding 10 doses and longer than 20 days is impractical, since the effect is achieved in a shorter time and with lower doses of the drug.
The advantage of the proposed method is the high antagonistic activity of the drug against a wide range of pathogenic and opportunistic pathogens of intestinal infections, reducing morbidity while increasing anti-infectious resistance and improving the macroorganism without the use of additional medications.
