Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the production of building materials and can be used for granulating phosphogypsum, used as a regulator of the setting time of cement and cementitious materials instead of natural gypsum stone.
A known method of granulating phosphogypsum [1] According to this method, phosphogypsum with a moisture content of 25% is mixed with a solution of nitric acid, after which the resulting mass is fed into a granulator, then the granules obtained are dusted with a carbonate agent, for example, chalk.
The disadvantage of this method is the use of aggressive substances and the presence in the granular phosphogypsum of soluble compounds of fluorine and phosphorus, which have a negative effect on the quality of cement and binders.
The closest technical solution to the proposed one is a method of granulating phosphogypsum by mixing it with a mixture of slag Portland cement and sodium sulfate taken in an amount of 5-10 and 0.5-2%, respectively, of the mass of dry phosphogypsum, pelletizing the resulting mass in a granulator, followed by drying of the granules to moisture 8-13% [2]
The disadvantage of this method is the low strength of the granules and their tendency to stick together, as well as the high energy consumption for dehydration of phosphogypsum and drying of the granules.
The aim of the invention is to increase the strength of the granules, water resistance, antiplatelet, shelf life and improve transportability.
The goal is achieved in that the granules of the product after they are pressed and rolled are dusted with a mineral finely divided powder having astringent properties.
A method of obtaining granular phosphogypsum is as follows. In a twin-shaft mixer, a mixture of raw materials is prepared containing 60-70% by weight of wet phosphogypsum and 30-40% of dust from electrostatic precipitators of rotary cement kilns. Due to its high activity, the dust of electrostatic precipitators of rotary cement kilns has the ability to bind the water contained in phosphogypsum, as a result of which additional water is added to the mixture if necessary to ensure the necessary plasticity. The finished mixture is fed to the granulation in hole rollers, where the formation of granules. Upon exit from the perforated rollers, the granules are immediately dusted with a finely divided mineral powder with astringent properties. As dusting material, dust from electrostatic precipitators of rotary cement kilns, dry fly ash of thermal power plants, limestone or dolomite flour, dust fly ash from ferrosilicon production, etc. can be used.
According to the phase composition, phosphogypsum consists mainly of calcium sulfate dihydrate and calcium sulfate hemihydrate, in small amounts there are impurities of water-soluble salts of phosphoric and hydrofluoric acids, silica, Mg, AI, and alkali metals. Cement dust of rotary cement kilns contains clinker minerals, carbonate and calcium oxide, a significant amount of alkali, i.e. cement dust contains a complex of substances necessary and sufficient to completely neutralize the acid residues contained in phosphogypsum. The neutralization products are complex water-soluble complexes and salts. Due to the combination of physical and chemical properties of phosphogypsum, a binder and dusting material in a short time after the completion of the granulation process, high strength of the granules, neutralization of acid residues both inside the granule material, and their complete neutralization on the surface of the granules are achieved. The use of highly active fine powders for dusting achieves high adhesion of the dusting layer with the material of the granules with a minimum thickness, which, in principle, is limited to 1-2 layers of microparticles of the powder. Phosphogypsum is subjected to granulation with an initial moisture content of 20-25%. The dust activity of electric filters of rotary kilns and its water demand are so high that when the method is implemented, it is necessary to add an additional amount of water to the raw mix, which binds completely, which eliminates drying operation from the process.
The obtained granules of phosphogypsum have an initial compressive strength of 2.0-2.4 MPa. Over time, there is a further increase in strength, which on the third day reaches 7.0-9.0 MPa.
The dusting of phosphogypsum granules with finely divided mineral powder prevents their aggregation, and also binds the active points on the surface of the granules, which makes them even more durable.
High strength in the early stages of hardening allows the use and transportation of granular phosphogypsum immediately after manufacture.
2. The results are given in tables 1 and 2.
From the tables it follows that, since an excessive amount of both alkalis and acids is harmful for cement production, the optimal composition of the mixture to obtain granular phosphogypsum should contain 70% and 30% of the binder in the form of cement dust. The most effective material for dusting granules is dust with the highest specific surface, in this case cement dust and fly ash of thermal power plants obtained from 3 fields of electrostatic precipitators.
Thus, the use of the proposed method allows us to simplify the technological granulation of phosphogypsum, to increase the strength and transportability of the granules, and the resulting product is a complete substitute for natural gypsum stone. In addition, the use of the method will reduce the land area allocated for dumps of chemical enterprises.
