Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of engineering, and in particular to chemical-thermal treatment of steel products operating in conditions of cyclically changing high temperatures and stresses, increased wear and chemical effects of aggressive environments.
A known method of applying combined coatings on steel products, including placing the products in a working chamber, evacuating, heating to a processing temperature and holding in a gaseous carburetor at 900-1100 o C for 0.7-1 h for preliminary cementation of the surface, re-evacuation, introduction carbon tetrachloride and simultaneously halides various metal carbide, carbide coatings application from among halides carbide forming metals at the processing temperature 900-1100 o C for 8-15 hours and oh azhdenie. The disadvantages of this method are the increased consumption of saturating elements, as well as the relatively long duration of the process, which increases its energy intensity and reduces the productivity of CTO. These disadvantages are eliminated in the method of producing combined coatings on steel products, selected as a prototype, the essence of which is to saturate the surface of the products with boron from boron coating and chromium in the chromium mixture, moreover, the boron coating is first applied to the product and then annealed in the chromium mixture using step mode: at 850.900 o C 1.2 h and at 950.1050 o C - 2.4 h.
The disadvantages of this method are the relatively low operational durability of the products, due to the fact that the coating does not have a sufficiently fine-grained structure due to the high process temperature, even during subsequent thermocyclic processing, as a result of which the ductility, viscosity and heat resistance of the coating are reduced while the strength indicators are increased, poor sanitary and hygienic working conditions when using saturating elements in pores in a bug-like form, as well as a decrease in the surface cleanliness of the product due to direct contact of saturating elements with the surface being treated.
The aim of the invention is to increase the operational stability of steel products by obtaining a finer-grained coating structure, to improve the sanitary and hygienic working conditions when applying combined coatings by eliminating the use of saturating elements in XTO in the form of fine powders, and increasing the surface cleanliness of the product by preventing contact with a saturating medium.
This goal is achieved by the fact that in the known method for producing combined coatings, including saturation of the surface of steel products from a powder mixture with various elements in a stepwise mode, in the proposed method of applying a multicomponent coating, vacuumization, cementation, for example, at a temperature of 930 o C for 1 h using a gaseous carburizer, re-evacuation, and saturation is carried out at a temperature of each stage corresponding to the sublimation temperature at a saturating element, for example, first with boron at a temperature of 900 o C for 4 h, and then with chromium at a temperature of 1100 o C for 4 h, and saturating elements, for example boron and chromium, diffuse from fine powders consisting, for example, of boron carbide and ferrochrome, which are pre-pressed to form a saturable surface so that a gap of about 0.5 mm remains between this surface and the saturating mixture. A distinctive feature of the proposed method is the combination of the process of chemical-thermal treatment with simultaneous continuous thermal cycling and subsequent heat treatment, for example, quenching at a temperature of 1150 o C for 0.5 h and tempering at a temperature of 560 o C for 1 h
A method of applying a multicomponent coating to steel products, comprising saturating the surface of steel products from a powder mixture with various elements according to a stepwise mode, whereby evacuation, cementation and re-evacuation are preliminarily carried out, and then saturation at each stage temperature corresponding to the sublimation temperature of the saturating element; the powder mixture is pre-pressed according to the shape of the surface of the processed steel product so that there is a gap between the pressed mixture and the surface to be treated; surface saturation during repeated evacuation is carried out during thermal cycling; after saturation of the surface, heat treatment is performed without additional heating.
The use of the invention will allow to obtain a combined coating, for example, based on carbon, boron and chromium, characterized by a fine-grained structure, and therefore, along with high hardness and strength, with high ductility and, therefore, impact strength, wear resistance and heat resistance, capable of working in difficult operating conditions with cyclic changes in temperature and stress, a high degree of surface wear and corrosive effects of aggressive environments. In addition, the use of a saturating mixture not in the form of fine powder, but in the form of a body pressed in a form that repeats the surface of the saturated product, but in such a way that the pressed mixture does not touch the surface to be treated, will improve the sanitary and hygienic working conditions of chemical workers -thermal treatment of the surface of steel products often with the use of substances harmful to the human body, and also contribute to improving the quality of the surface of the product due to the claim contact between the mixture of saturating elements and the surface to be treated, due to the fact that at high temperature in vacuum, the saturating elements will evaporate along the working surface.
A compressed mixture of saturating elements is negligible and can be used repeatedly, which helps to save the mixture. The reduction in the flow rate of the mixture is also achieved as a result of the fact that when the inner working surface is saturated using pressed inserts from the mixture of saturating elements, the deposition of these elements on the outer surface practically does not occur.
The constant, simultaneous saturation with various surface elements of the steel product, thermal cycling will lead not only to grinding grain of the surface structure, but to a significant activation of the saturation process, the possibility of reducing the duration and temperature of the treatment, which will reduce the energy intensity of the process and increase the productivity of chemical-thermal processing.
The gradual saturation of the surface of the steel product first, for example, with carbon, and then with boron and chromium will lead to the formation of boron carbides in the sublayer and solid solutions on the surface itself, which plasticize and bind these carbides, prevent cracking and contribute to better surface workability: grinding and polishing.
