Abstract

The utility model relates to experimental and clinical veterinary practice and is intended for supplying air, oxygen and / or anesthetic gas mixtures from the anesthesia-respiratory apparatus to an animal, namely a horse. The device for supplying gas mixtures and carrying out inhalation procedures to horses contains a transparent body, presented a bottle of polyethylene terephthalate with a volume of 5-6 liters, along the rear edge of which an occipital fixation strap is attached to fix it to the horse's head. In the narrow upper end of the mask body there is an inlet for the inhalation of the mixture to the horse. There is a wide opening on the opposite lower end of the mask body, equipped with a rubber gasket around the circumference, ensuring a snug fit of the device to the horse's face. The proposed breathing mask allows you to use it both in clinical and in the field, directly at the stable. 1 ill.

The utility model is intended for use in veterinary medicine and relates to means for supplying air, oxygen and / or anesthetic gas mixtures from the anesthesia-respiratory apparatus to the animal.

Mask ventilation is a common form of short-term respiratory support for a patient, allowing oxygen to be delivered most easily and quickly in an emergency.

When carrying out medical inhalations, inhalation anesthesia, oxygen therapy, if it is necessary to switch to artificial ventilation of the lungs or saturation of the animal's body with oxygen, excessive hyperventilation is performed before muscle relaxation. In all such situations, the proposed horse breathing mask is applicable.

Known mask for inhalation anesthesia for small animals [patent RU No. 2481082], providing it with the use of liquid and gaseous anesthesia. The use of the known mask for large animals, for example, for horses, is impossible due to the discrepancy between the size and anatomical structure. The domestic industry does not produce breathing masks for horses.

Also known is an inhalation bag-bag for cattle and horses [patent RU No. 2481082], containing a bag, an occipital fixation strap with two carabiners, metal rings and straps for fastening. Its disadvantages are: the inability to connect to the anesthesia machine and the inability to use gaseous anesthetics. An inhalation bag (mask) for cattle and horses is known abroad [US 5954049, 21.09.1999]. However, due to the presence of a special inhaler in it, this device is difficult to implement and can only be manufactured in an industrial environment, that is, it is not always available for treating animals in remote areas and in the field.

The technical result of a useful model of a respiratory mask for horses consists in:

1. The simplicity of the design and the possibility of independent production by the consumer from improvised means.

2. Transparency and plasticity of the mask body made of available food grade plastic, common in everyday life as a container for drinking water.

3. The softness of the material used, which makes it possible to adapt the configuration of the mask to the face of the horse's head, taking into account its size and shape.

4. The tightness of the mask and the breathing circuit due to the use of a rubber gasket and fixing straps around the rear edge of the mask.

The technical result is achieved due to the fact that the breathing mask for horses contains a transparent bottle of polyethylene terephthalate with a volume of 5-6 liters, in the narrow upper end of which there is an inlet for the inhaled mixture to enter the horse, and at the lower end of the bottle there is a wide opening with a diameter equal to the diameter of the bottle equipped with a rubber gasket around the circumference, ensuring a snug fit of the device to the horse's face.

The construction of a breathing mask for horses consists of 4 elements: a mask body 1, an occipital fixation strap 2, an adapter adapter 3 and a rubber pad 4. The mask body is adapted to the front of the horse's head and necessarily covers its nostrils. On the side of the horse's nostrils, the mask body has an inlet into which an adapter adapter is inserted and the inhaled mixture is supplied to the animal.

By means of an adapter-adapter, the mask is connected to the breathing hoses of the inhaler or anesthesia-respiratory apparatus. There is a rubber gasket on the opposite rear edge of the mask body around its circumference, which ensures a tight fit of the structure to the horse's face and tightness. The length-adjustable occipital strap through the holes on the rear edge of the mask body also provides a snug fit and anchorage to the horse's head.

The useful model makes it possible to widely use the proposed breathing mask for conditions requiring inhalation of oxygen, halogen-containing anesthetics, as well as for therapeutic inhalation of drugs for respiratory diseases in horses.

Respiratory mask for horses, containing a transparent bottle, in the narrow upper end of which there is an inlet for the inhaled mixture to enter the horse, and at the lower end of the bottle there is a rubber gasket and fixing straps, the inlet is made with the possibility of inserting an adapter adapter, characterized in that the body of the mask is made of a container for drinking water made of polyethylene terephthalate with a volume of 5-6 liters, while the lower end of the bottle is equipped with an opening with a diameter equal to the diameter of the bottle.
